Two gen’rous cats their paws forbore, At this absurd reflection ; They ouly view’d the reptile o’er;— * Contempt was bis protection. At length a rat, with phiz of flame, A pompous, party minion, Who /marl'd thro’ ev’ry change of name | Qbjtrvtr, Bambardtnson . He knew to make a period round, From ancient authors gleaning; And dealt in word* of mighry found, But words without a mssuiug. He knew to coin a word at willj (A fig for Dictionary) Aud could a lofty period fill With an inaugotary.
