THE 0 VII.Y TIMES. . THE CITY. Local. AH is bustle iu uur streets at this season. If Hroad Street were Daguerreotyped, it would pre sent an appearance for business unequalled per haps by any city in the South. The cotton buyer with his gimlet, the wagoner with his team, the banker with his bills, the clork with his lace and last, but not least, the countryman with his fam ily may all be seen at one view. But it is not ah show. The receipts of cotton at this market up to this period will 9peak loudly for itself-—More, however, anon tWMessrs. R. J. Moses and VV. A. Lawes, hare formed a co-partnership in the practice of law\ See advertisement. If any honest person has lound a Silver Watch, they will learn what to do with it hy reading the advertisement. Advertising.—l have always considered i advertising, liberally and long, to be the j great medium of success in business, and the prelude to w’ealth. And I have made i it an invariable rule, too, to advertise in the dullest times, a long experience having taught me that money thus spent is well laid out; as by keeping my business con tinually before the public, it lias secured me many sales that I wrnuld otherwise have lost. —Stephen Girard. DAILY COMMERCIAL RECORD. Columbus Times Office, Sept. 22. COTTON—Our market opened yesterday at 111 extremes and closed with easier prices—say for good M idd lings Ilf ® llil. The accounts per steamer North Britain were received in the mean time, which imparted rather a better tone, but re sulted in no advance in prices. Large teceiptsand the difficulties occasioned by yellow lever at the shipping ports have, doubtless, produced this de pression in our market. The heavy receipts, we do not think, is any clear indication of a large | crop. The almost universal prevalence oftherust I left no alternative to the planter but to gather the ! crop, and a good price induced it early to market. ; There is no good reason, we think, to put the crop j down as a large one. Receipts 981 bales. -Sales I aoi. Augusta, Sept. 20,2 P. M.--COTTON—SaIes this forenoon 131 bales, as follows ; 2 at Hi ; 42 ■ at 1R ; and 87 at 12 cts. Receipts 185 bales. Mobile, Sat. SEABORN JONES, PAUL J. SEYIMEB, JOHN L. MUSTIAN, June 10, —wtwtf JAMES VV. WARREN. FFhEDu.M FROM FEVER AND AGUE THIUHPHANT SUCCESS! THE GRENADA ELIXIR, OR South American Antidote for Malaria! Is a sure Cure and Perfect Route to Ague and Fever, Chill and Fever, Dumb Ague, and all Bilious Affections ! IT has been thoroughly tested in thousands of cases, some of years’ standing, where Quinine and all the most popular remedies of the day had failed, but the Elixir has met with the most tri umphant success ; never failed to cure the most obstinate cases. The unanimous testimony of ail who have used or witnessed its operations, declare it to be (he most extraordinary medicine everdis covered for the quick and permanent cure of Fe ver and Ague. It operates as a genile Tonic and stimulant, gradually bur surely; eradicates every vesiige of disease, and restores the system to healt h and vigor. It imparts new vitality to lhe blood, and will soon induce the glow of health to return to the pale and swarthy complexion. The advantage of this medicine therefore is, that a cure must be radical and complete; not simply breaking the Chill, by producing a “new impres sion” upon the nervous system, without reference to the operations of the malarious poison, which is allowed to remain unchanged and renew its at tacks, immediately alter the nervous system has ceased to leel the artificial disease—induced by Quinine and many other preparations generally resorted to- The GRENADA ELIXIR acts di rectly upon the Liver, Stomach, Kidneys, Pores of die Skin, and produces a radical t ure. It contains no ingredient, the least injurious to the system, and can be given to an inlant with perfect safety. It is warranted to cure every case when taken a9 directed. All who need such a medicine, will do well to try the Grenada Elixir. It is not only the best but the must economical medicine ever introduced for Fever and Ague and is a Southern Remedy.
