“I A woke-—ml behold It. was a
Dream ”
Man learns, from sorrows dark and deep
And pleasure’s fitful gleam,
This world is but a place to weep,
And human life—a dream.
I dreamed I had a noble boy,
Of lofty, manly grace.
My hope, my life, my pride and joy,
The first of all his race.
I dreamed that, when a little child,
He sat upon my knee,
And nlaved and prattled.romped and smiled
With all an infant’s glee.
I dreamed that from that, hanpvhour,
Me grew to manhood braved
But never dreamed so fair a flower,
Bloomed only for the grave.
In that dark eve, no look was seen
That told of shame or sin,
But from it sparkled clear and keen,
The intellect within <.
Oh. what a mind was there! how bright
The hope it gavo to me !
He seemed a burning,shining light,
Born for posterity.
For years he lived, and moved and spoke,
And brief those years and and seoni;
For eoon. in agony. I woke,
And lo! ‘twas all a dream !
But light -vill on the dreamer dawn
And shadows melt away;
Whn sunrise ushers irCtho morn,
Of everlasting day.
Then,l rnay hone to meet my boy,
Saved, sanctified, forgiven,
And dream no more, but share the joy
The “waking bliss” of Heaven.

TRIUMPHANT SUOOESS!
TP
GRENADA ELIXIR,
OR
South American Antidote for Malaria?
Is a sure Cure and Perfect Route to Ague
and Fever, Chill and Fever, Dumb A&ue,
and all Bilious Affections'.
IT has been thoroughly tested in thousands of
cases, some of years’ standing, where Quinine
and ail the most popular remedies of the day had
failed, hut the Elixir has met v*.ith the most tri- ;
umphant success; never failed to cure tlie most
obstinate cases. The unanimous testimony of all
who have used or w itnessed its operations, declare j
it to be the most extraordinary medicine ever dis- j
covered for the quick and permanent cure of Fe
ver and Ague. It operates as a gentle Tonic and j
stimulant, gradually but surely; eradicates every :
vesiige of disease, and restores the system to health j
and vigor. It imparts new vitality to the blood, !
and wiF soon induce the glow of health to return
to the pale and swarthy complexion.
The advantage of this medicine therefore is, that •
a cure must be radical and complete; not simply I
breaking the Chill, by producing a “new impres- |
sum” up >n the nervous system, without reference j
to the operations of the malarious poison, which j
is allowed io remain unchanged and renew its at- j
tacks, immediately alter the nervous system has
ceased to tee! the artificial disease—induced by
Quinine and many other preparations generally
resorted to. The GRENADA ELIXIR acts di
rectly upon the Liver, Stomach, Kidneys, Pores j
of the Skin, and produces a radical cure.
Ii contains no ingredient the least injurious to
ihe system, and can be given to an iniant with
perfect safety. It is warranted to cure every case
when taken as directed. 9 ’
All who need such a medicine, will do well to
try the Grenada Elixir. Ii is not only the bi-*t hut
the must economical medicine ever introduced for
Fever and Ague and is a Southern Remedy.
