Patrick's Serenade.
IS THE ORIGINAL IRISH.
Ocn! Bridget, mavournoan, joost open the win
der,
And give me a glimpse av your beautiful lace :
My ancient dudeen is all burnt to a cinder
And boogs are quite thick in this mutherin
place.
Sure, Biddy, my girl, it’s no joke for a janioue,
1° walk all the day, ’nath,a botherin’ hod,
And thin, in the night, serynade a young Van
ious,
Clane up to his knees, in the muddy ould sod.
I’m dyin’ with rapture, my jewel of cratures,
And never a lovyer more willingly howled ;
But don’t ye let scorn wrinkle up your swate ia
tures,
Because your poor Paddy has got such acowld.
The lightnin’ is ioarin’, the tonder is flashin’,
The moon is no bigger than nothin’ at all ;
And such anoutragious and divilish splashin’
I niver did bear since the days 1 was small.
Thin open the winder, my queen av affection,
Or, what is as good - -plase open the door;
Nor dhrame that you’re sure of escapin’ detec
tion—
I know ye’re awake, by the length av ye’re
shnore!
The Herald says: “It is slated that
the treaty between England and France on
the one band, and China on the other, con
tains 57 articles, and that the indemnity to
be paid England and France amounts to
500,000,000 francs.”

FFEEDOM FROM FEVER AND AGUE
TRIUMPHANT SUOGESS!
THE
GRENADA ELIXIR,
OR
South American Antidote for Malarial
Is a sure Cure and Perfect Route to Ague
and Fever, Chill and Fever, Dumb Ague,
and alt Bilious Affections!
IT has been thoroughly tested in thousands of
cases, some of years’ standing, where Quinine
and all the most popular remedies of the day had
failed, but the Elixir has met with the most tri- j
umphant success; never failed to cure the most
obstinate cases. The unanimous testimony of all
who have used or witnessed its operations, declare
it to be the most extraordinary medicine everdis- !
covered for the quick and permanent cure of Fe
ver and Ague. It operaies as"a genile Tonic and
stimulant, gradually but surely; eradicates every
vestige of disease, and restores the system to health
and vigor. It imparts new vitality to the blood,
and wil -soon induce the glow of health to return
to the pale and swarthy complexion.
The advantage of this medicine therefore is, that j
a cure must he radical and comple'e ; not simply
breaking the Chill, by producing a ‘‘new impres- j
smn” upon the nervous system, without reference j
to the operations of the malarious poison, which
is allowed io remain unchanged anti renew its at
tacks, immediately alter the nervous system lias
ceased to teel the artificial disease—induced by
Quinine and many other preparations generally
resorted to. The GRENADA ELIXIR acts di
rectly ujKin the Liver, Stomach, Kidneys, Pores
of the Skin, and produces a radical cure.
It contains no ingredient the least injurious to
the system, and can he given to an iriiant with
perfect safety. It is warranted to cure every case
when taken as directed.
All who need such a medicine, will do well to
try the Grenada Elixir. It is not only the best but
the must economical medicine ever introduced lor
Fever and Ague and is a Southern Remedy.
