Sales of Land and Negroes, by Admioisira
tors, Executors and Guardians, are required by
law to be held on the first Tuesday in the month
between the hours of ten in forenoon and three
m the afternoon, at the Court House inffie county
in which the property is situate. Notices of
these sales must be given in a public gazette
lorty days previous to the day of sale.
Notice for the sale of Personal property must
be given at least ten days previous to the day of
sale.
Notice to Debtors and Creditors of an Estate
must be nublished forty days.
Notice that application will be made to the
Court of Or Jiaary for leave to sell Lanu or Ne
groes, must be published weekly for two months.
Citations for Letters of Administration must be
published thirty days—for Dismission from Ad
ministration, monmiy 3ix months—for Dismission
from Guardianship, forty days.
Rules tor Foreclosure of Mortgage must be
published monthly tor four months—for estab
lishing lost papers for the full space ot three
months —for compelling titles from Executors
or Administrators, where a bond has been givn
by the deceased, the lull space of three months.

of study, it is hardly necessary to state that the
advantage offered here are seldom found iu a fe
male College.
Prof. Johnson is a popular teacher and distin
guished composer of music. For sis years previ
ous to his connection with this Institution, he had
charge of this department in a flourishing female
college. His superior excellence as a vocalist,
energy and tact in teaching, fit him especially for
his position.
Young ladies wishing to give the polish to a
musical education, will find the proper advantages
at this place.
A seat uniform dress is worn by the v ting Ti
dies of the College, on public occasions. Any
