On Sunday morning in the 73d year of his age,
JOHN HAYVVOOD,Esq. Public Treasurer of the
State, which office he has filled for the !o*|j; term
of 41 years, with unwearied devotion and a faith
ful discharge of its duties for which a parallel
can scarcely be found. Our pecnl iar situation, at
this period, and our limited time for publication,,
prevent us from doing justice to the character of
this most excellent man. We trust some abler
pen will at an early day, furnish us an obituary
notice, worthy to be recorded as a lasting memo
rial of his illustrious character.

briety, has established its virtues beyond aii con
tradiction, and supersedes the necessity of any

i medicine for Dyspepsia, kc. All that is required,
j to ensure its specific effect is to abide strictly by
j the directions. It is put up in packages sufficient

ample directions for it3 use, signed inthehand-
i wiitingofthe subscribers, without which none
j are genuine. We are induced to adopt this mea-
; sure, as in consequence of the great celebrity
| which Dr. Chambers’ "medicine has obtained,
i there have been, and doubtless will be, many spu-
j rious imitations. On enclosing to us the usual
| price. $5. postage paid, the medicine can be sent
by mail. To those who are unable to pay, on
personal application ofthe iutiividnal at our office,
