BENTON WALTON. August 20 ts 98 rfliy e Jll Jm 1 Iff i WARD’S Vegetable Hair Oil. RECOMMENDED and approved bv the faculty, prepared only by E. A. Ward, M. D., 241 Spring street, New York. Among the many and great variety of Oils, Cerates, Bahns, &c. to promote the growth of the Hair, nothing has yet been discovered to answer the object intended so effectually as Ward’s Oil. It has established a reputation never before ac quired by any other preparation. It has restore ed hair on heads that have been bald for many years, and in all cases where the hair is dead or beginning to grow dry and falling off, it ex erts a most salutary influence, imparting life and lustre. When the hair is turning grey, the oil will so invigorate it as to cause it to resume its original color and hence it is of great utility to persons in whom there is a contitu tional predisposition to grayness. Ladies will find it a great acquisition to the toilet, and after becoming acquainted with its intrinsic meat will consider it indispensable. O’ Caution— The great celebrity of this Oil; and the extensive demand for the article, has induced many base and unprincipled men to select it for imitation; then resorting t<? ”very kind of deception and fraud to palm the coun terfeit upon the public. Be verj particular to observe that round each genuine bottle is a treatise on the human hair about 30 pages, treating on the following interesting and important subjects, viz: History of some of the fashions of wearing the hair; the national differences of the hair; structurethe hair; grey hair; baldness; cause of baldness; baldness of young men; the decline of hair among females; treatment of the hair; how to manage the hair in sickness; the influ ence of warm climates upon the hair; how to manage children’s hair; sensitive hair, &c. OTHO WEAVER. prOspeCtVs OF THE StIUTHERNSPYj A weekly Newspaper to be published in Washing ton, Wilkes County, Geo. To be devoted to Politics, Literature, &c. IT has so long been the custom of persons an nouncing their design to establish a Press to issue a Prospectus containing the principles which they intend to maintain, that a. departure in the present instance would hardly be pardon ed. The people have unquestionably the right to be informed; what path we design to travel, and to judge first of its propriety, and af terwards if there should be a deviation from the same. We would therefore briefly state, that our object is to advocate and support to the ex tent of our ability the doctrines professed and practised by the Union Party of our State, be lieving them to the essential to the preservation of our existence as a nation, and the perpetua tion of our happiness as a people. These we believe to be generally known and understood by the citizens of our’State, and indeed the pro per a prospectus would preclude their being examined aild explained in detail. We are fully aware that professions made and not practised are worse than futile. If we should be found tergiversating in our course, we are of consequence amenable to our patrons and rea ders, and by them we are willing to be judged. Portions of the paper will be devoted to mis cellaneous matter, distinct from political, em bracing that which will be thought most usefttl and interesting. The Editor pledges himself to use every exertioh to make his paper as respec table and interesting as lays in his power. The Southern Spy will be published on a Roy al sheet with new type and press, at tWo dollars and fifty cents in advance; and three dollars at the end of the year. The first number will be issued about the 25th of this month. JA’S T. HAY. Washington, August 15th, 1834. fire company lottery.
