A Augusta Library Society Notice. 'V a Meeting of the Board of Directorsheld in the Library room on Tuesday, the 3d inst. the following Resolution was adopted and ordeied to be published. Resolved, That it be recommended to the Stockholders of the Augusta Library Society, to pay to the Treasurer a sum not less than $5 each, for the purpose of increasing the number of Books. Feb 25 3 24 FIFTY DOLLARS REWARD. RANAWAY from the Subscriber on the last day of March last, his Negro Woman PATSEY. She was bought of John Lane, a Negro Speculator, who brought her from Vir ginia, and is about 40 or 15 years old. She is thin in the face, thin lips, and spbaks slow when addressed. She had two scars on the right cheek, made by the whip. She walks strait and upright. The above reward will be given to any person who will deliver her to the Subscri ber, tn Augusta, Geo., free of expence, or twen ty-five, if confined in any jail so that I get her, or twenty-five if delivered to me with all reason able expenses. It is expected, she has endeav- r ored to get back to Virginia, if she was not sto- 1 len. William Kerr of Athens, for a yellow Ne gro Man, known in this city by the name of Daniel Kelly. Daniel was at the time I traded for him Runaway —and is still out. All per sons are requested to let said Negro pass if seen about the city of Augusta. And the reward of ferred by Col. Kerr, was withdrawn on the day of hissale to me. I have been looking daily to see Daniel, and information reached me to-day that a certain person known to me had advised Daniel not to come to me, as it was a plan laid to catch him for Col. Kerr. It appears to me this good genieman is about to get himself into a situation it will cost him some help to get out, as well as expense. Daniel cannot be bought from me at any price by said person. ROBERT W. McKEEN. Nov 14 136 ROSEMOUNT PLANTATION In Burke County, for Sale, Or to Rent for the year 1835. THIS Plantation contains 3 to 4000 Acres of fine qality Pine and Hammock Lands intersected by the waters of Boggy Cut—on which there is a mill seat, and dam erected, with a large body of pine and hard timber. There is 4 to 500 acres of fresh open land, un der good fence, on said premises. This tract of land is level, not subject to wash, and for the culture of Cotton is equal to any other lands in this section of the Country. The settlement is on a healthy mount near to a spring of pure water, and consists of an Over seer’s and ten or twelve negro houses—new frame Gin House, &c. &c. This desirable pro perty lies 18 miles below Augusta, and about 2 miles from Savannah river. ALSO, Oakhill Plantation in Columbia County, dis tant about 15 miles from Augusta, on the Wrightsboro’ road, containing about 460 acres, one half of which is Oak and Hickory, and the other Lands, adjoining the lands of Tubman, Hodghton and others—on the premises are i comfortable dwelling and other necessary build ings, with a well of good water in the yard. For Publishing in the Town of Wetumpka, Al abama, a weekly paper to be entitled the WETUMPKA TIMES. r iFI HE Town ol Wetumka being situated at L the head of Steam Boat navigation on the Coosa river, and being justly estimated as an* important point where thecommerceof an exten sive, rich productive district of the country must concentrate; a paper being deemed by the sub scriber necessary to the people who reside in the Town, and to those who must trade there, as a sort of Messenger between the agricultural and commercial population—he, therefore proposes to establish a Journal in the Town of Wetump ka, under the title which heads this prospec tus. The object of the Times is not to effect anj r K’ views whatever, and therefore, will not e organ of any faction, or the tool of any party but will be devoted to the dissemination of correct and useful information and to the main tenance of the rights and interests of the peo ple. Its columns will at all times be open to men of all parties and all opinions—also to a frank, free and full discussion of all the politi cal questions vitally affecting the interestsand well being of National the Government and the cause of liberty against anarchy and misrule. A summary view of all important events happening in any part of the United states, and a summary of all foreign intelligence whether civil or political, deemed to be of an important or interesting character, together with acorrect account of the Market of this and other places will be sevised by the practical merchant, and published weekly. It will bethe endeavor of the publisher to furnish his patrons with all important news on anv and every subject calculated to benefit the publie, and to present them with such original and se lected articles as may be of an instructive or en tertaining nature. He, also pledges himself, to spare no exertions on his part lo render the T imes worthy thepatronagc of an enlightened and generous community. TERMS. The Times will be issued on a Superroyal sheet, at $3 50 in advance —$4 if paid within - six months —or 5 dollars at the close of a year. Advertisements will be inserted at the usual rates.
