AN ORDINANCE
TO prevent owners and occupants of late in
the city of Augusta, from discharging wa
ter into the streets and alleys of the same so as
to create nuisance.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the City Council of
Augusta, That from and after the 20th of July,
instant, no person owning or occupying a lot in
said City, shall, under any pretence whatever,
discharge or permit to be discharged from his
or her premises, any quantity of water into the
street or alley so as to create nuisance.
Sec. 2. And be it ordained, That any person
offending against the provisions of this Ordi
nance, may be find in a sum of 50 dollars for
every day such nuisance may exist.

AN ORDINANCE,
To reqire the Mayor to issue script, to the
Medical College of Georgij •
WHEREAS, the Medical College of Geor
gia have by their obligations made and
entered into the tenth day of May, eighteen
hundred and thirty-four, bound themselves and
their successors in office, to furnish Medicine
and Medical attendance for all the sick in the
Hospital and such prisoners in jail, as the City
Council shall direct for the full term of ten
years, from the first day of April last, for and
in consideration of five thousand dollars— pay
able in ten equal annual instalments, the first
day of April,’ 1835, and on the first day of April
in each and every year, thereafter, for the full
term of ten years with the addition of 6 per
cent interest on each and every of the said
payments.
Be it therefore ordained, by the City Council
of Augusta, that his honor the Mayor, be re
quired to issue scrip for the sum of five thou
sand dollars, to the Medical college of Georgia,
in ten equal annual instalments, the first of
which payments to be made, on the first day of
April, eighteen hundred and thirty-five, bear
ing an interest of six per cent per annum, from
the first day of April last.

THE execution of the act of Congress of
the 30th June, 1835, providing for the pay
ment of the claims of the citizens of Georgia,
and to carry into effect the Fourth Article of
the Treaty of the Bth of January, 1821, with
the Creek Indians, having been committed, by
the President ofthe United States, to the judg
ment and discretion of the Governor
ernor of Georgia, lor final adjustment.- and the
balance of the two hundred and fifty thousand
dollars, appropriated for the purpose, (amount
ing to one hundred and forty-one thousand and
fifty-five dollars and ninety-one cents,) having
been received from the Treasury of the United
States, and deposited in the Central Bank of
Georgia; and the papers in relation to said
claims having been received at this office; it is
therefore
Ordered, That public notice be given with
out delay, in all the newspapers of this State,
accompanied by a publication of the Act of
Congress referred to, notifying all who maj r be
concerned, of the aforesaid arrangement, and
requesting all claimants, and their representa
tives, who have not heretofore presented their
claims, as well as those who may have addition
al, proof or explanations to offer in support i
of claims already presented, and provided foi
bv the Act of Congress, to present the same to
this Department, with all practicable dispatch,
as no claimant can receive his proportion ofthe
appropriation, until the wholeofthe claims shall

1 AN ACT to carry into full effect the fourth ar
ticle of the treaty of the eighth of January,
eighteen hundred and twenty-one, with the
Creek Nation of Indians, so far as relates to
the claims of citizens of Georgia against
said Indians, prior to eighteen hundred and
two.
Sec. 1 licit enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives of the United States of Ameriia
| in Congress assembled, That the President of tl e
! United States be, and he is hereby, authotized
I to cause to be adjusted and paid to full indem
i nity, out of any money in the Treasury not
; otherwise appropriated, all claims ol citizens of
the State of Georgia, under the fourth article
of the treaty of eighth January, eighteen hun
dred and twenty-one, between the U. States
and the Creek nation of Indians, which have
not been heretofore adjusted and paid, on the
following principles: all claims which have not
heretofore adjusted and paid, founded upon the
capture and detention, or destruction of proper
ty by said Indians, prior to the passage of the
act regulating intercousse with Indian tribes
if satisfactorily established, shall be allowed
and paid.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That there,
shall be an interest of six per cent, per annum
allowed and paid on the amount of all claims
which have been or may be adjusted and es
tablished under the provisions of the aforesaid
treaty, tobe calculated from the date of the or
igin of the claims, respectively, up to the date
of the adjustment and establishment of said
claims respectively. Provided, however, That
the amount whiefi may be allowed under the
provisions of this act asinterest shall be calcu
lated on the amount of the value of the proper
ty so taken or destroyed; the amount of the
principal of each claim to be determined by
the value of the property for which it was and
is made, at the time said property was so taken
or destroyed: And provided, also, That the ag
gregate amount of the claims which have been,
and hereafter may be, paid, shall not exceed
the sum ot two hundred and fifty thousand
dollars.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That if, on
the adjustment of the aforesaid claims, the a
mount which may be found due, and the amount
already paid, with the interest to be calculated
as aforesaid, shall exceed the sum of two hun
dred and fifty thousand dollars, the President
be, and he is hereby, authorized to cause a fair
and equitable distribution of the unexpected
balance ot the said two hundred and fifty thou
sand dollars to be made among the claimants,
in proportion to the amount which may have
been, or shall be, found due to them, respective
ly: Provided, That the principal of the respec
tive claims be first paid.
