. COMMERCIAL. LIVERPOOL, MAY B—The demand fur Cotton was very large during the earlier part -of the week and prices advanced } in. American and jd per Ib.in Brazil and Egyptian descrip tions. Yesterday and to-day the inquiry has been less considerable, but prices are without Change. The sales of the weeks, including 8000 American, 500 Pernam, 550 Egyptian, and 200 Surat taken on speculation, and 7700 Ame rican, and 209 Surat fur export, amount to 3-1, 950 bags. Import 27.056 bags. LIVERPOOL, MAY B—The imports of Cotton into the Kingdom, during the last four months, amounted to 396,000 bales, against 291, 000 received during the same period in 1834 and of American, separately, the imports amounted to 316,000 against 227,000 bales. The stock of all sorts of Cotton, in the ports bfthe Kingdom, as estimated on the Ist inst. a taiounted to about 201,000 bales, against the stock bn the Ist of May last year of 218,000, and of A inerican, separately, the stock appears to have been 157,000, against 137,000 bales, shewing a decrease in the stock of all kinds of 17,000, and an increase in that of American of 20,000 bales. This week.we have improved both in de mand and feeling in our market,- the last ac counts from the United Stales, though still of a somewhat contradictory nature, are rather on the whole calculated to confirm the belief that the crop in America «ill not exceeded, and per 'haps hardly equal in extent, that of the last sea son; much will depend by and by on the proof bearing upon this point.
