Sec. 1st. Be it ordamed by the nmvo and al
dermen of the city of Savannah, n council assem
bled, and t is hereby o darned by the authority*
of the same, That, at the first regular meet ng of
council -n November next, and at the first regu
lar meeting in November every year hereafte ,
there shall be nhosen by ballot a super.nteiulant
of gunpowder, to serve fo one year, who shall
enter into bond with two o- mo-e sulficient sor
ties, hf the sum of two thousand dollars, fo» the

shall be the duty of the superintemlant of gunpow

the hou s of ten o’clock ih the mo n ng until
twelve o’clock, at the place or places det-gnated
for the receiv.ng and debve«y of gunpowde", and
in case of non-attendance (unless good and suffi
cient excuse be made to the mayor and aldermen,
it a cgulry meeting of counc l, for each and eve-
y nfor mation so laid, that he shall be lined in a
$um not exceeding thirty dollars.
