.Twenty dollars’ reward.
Runaway from the subscriber’s imitation, two negro
men, named Pster and Hiaar. Peter is about five feet,
■four or five inches high, is from 20 to 23 years of age, lit
has a mild and pleasant countenance arid when spoken
to will immediately iaugh, he is slender made. Harry
is about five feet, six or seven inches high, from 20 to 25
years of age, thickly made, has a grim and frowning
countenance. It is probable they are both in Savannah,
as they were seen in that city a few days ago. Whoever
will apprehend and deliver both or either of them
in the gaol of Savannah or at my plantation near
Coosawhatchie, or in any gaol in the state of South-Ca-
rolini, shall receive ten dollars’ reward for each, and all

The establishment has been at a great expence, rendered
permanent; and its respective departments are open all
the seasons of the year. Female Scholars to the number
of fifteen, may now be admitted. The importance of in
struction to youth, during the summer, as well as the win
ter, is obvious, and as this seminary offers advantages
equal in every respect to any of the kind, it is believed
its claims for patronage are equal, if, not *superior, to
those temporary schools kept open during only a few i
the healthy months of the year, merely to suit the inter
est and convenience of transient persons, without any
view whatever to the pubiic weal,

Five Dollars’ reward.
Ranaway from the subscriber, at Darien, on Friday,
the 5th inst. my Negro Fellow, Exixuel, about 5 feet 6
or 7 inches high, an African born and formerly belong
ed to the estate of Morrel. Any person delivering the
above slave to the subscriber or lodging him in any gaol
in Georgia, shall receive the above reward; and as he is
supposed'to be making his way to the Twelve Mile house
at Mr. Stotam’s plantation, on the Ogechee road, it will
be well for people on that toad to keep a good look
out, and any planter who may want to purchase may
applv, as it is supposed he has been persuaded off by

The PLANTATION called Verxezobke, settled by
colonel Daniel Heyward, dec. situate on the east side of
the Savannah back-river, twelve miles from the city, and
contiguous to the lands of Thomas Gibbons, esq. The
tract consists of a total of 2126 acres, being divided in
to pretty.equal proportions of tide-swamp, pine-barren
cotton and provision lands. Of the former there are
about. 300 acres on the river, which, by clearing, would
be well calculated for a productive rice plantation; and
of the latter, with a large body of cleared provision
land, there are about 100 acres of prime uncleared cot
ton laud. On the place there is an excellent dwelling-
house, with five rooms; a large substantially bunt barn,
with a number of negro-houses and other buildings.—
Possession of the puce will he given at any time. For
terms, which will be made ejisy to an approved pur
chaser, apply to the owner, at Callawassie Island, St

Notice.
Some time in June, was stolen out of my house, a
POWDER HORN, about fifteen inches in length, the bot
tom made of cedar, the stopper of the skin of a wild
duck’s head, wound upon wire. There is generally so
great a similarity in powder horns, that I hunlly enter
tain a hope of the above description leading to a disco
very, from any other source tlian from the person who
purchased it from the negro, whom I suppose to be the
thief. If the purchaser will restore the property, leaving
information, at this Office, that will lead to the thief’s con
viction, he shall receive Ten Dollars, or half that amount

In consequence of an act of Congress having passed,
changing the times and places of the sitting of this court,
so that the next court for this district will be hou-eu at
at this place on the 14th da}’ of December next; and
whereas by the said act, power is given to tlus court to
make such rules and orders as may be necessary to pre
vent deiay of justice and injury to parties; it is ordered,
that the next jury to be drawn, shah be draw'n and sum
moned to meet at this piace in pursuance of the said act,
and that all writs, and process of ail kinds, issued return
able to the term in course at Mifiedgevilie, shall be held
returnable to the court next to be hoiden at this place;
and that the parties be required to appear accordingly
to plead or prosecute; and it is further ordered, that tne
act of Congress on the foregoing subject, together with

for the District of south Carolina and Georgia.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa
tives of the United States of America, in Congress asst.m-
hl;d, that from andafier the first day of June next, the
Circuit Courts in and for the sixth circuit of the United
States, shill be held at the following times and places,
and no others; that is to say, for the District of Georgia,
at Savannah, on the fourteenth day of December in ever}’
year, and at Mifiedgevilie, on the sixth day of May iu
every year; for the District of South Carolina, at Charles
ton, on the twentieth day of November in every year, and
at Columbia on the twentieth day of April m ever}’ year,
and the Circuit Court for the said Districts respectively,
or the Circuit judge of the said Sixth Circuit is authori
