From the qualifications of the author, and his being in
possession of all the papers of the General, appertaining
to the operations in the South, its details may be better
reiied -an for accuracy than any other that can be pre
sented to the public. -
The History will commence with the early lifet-of Gen
eral Jackson, and conclude with the operations of the
British and American armies before New-Orleans; and
will comprise allthe events of the war in. which he had
any agency.
