the treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in Fever

tar. and relieving pain mused by carious teeth
Few discoveries ill modern chemistry promise
more important results than that of Kreosote, by
I)r. Rcichonlinrh, an oiuineut chemist of Blnns-

product, obtained from wood, nud isnnnlogonsto
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, hut far more
powerful ns a corrective nnd preventive of de
cay. Cliarco.il, notwithstanding it* well known
dualising properties, is objectionable ns a denti
frice, on account of its insolubility, nnd tho risk
of minute particles remaining between tho teeth
nnd producing injury. Krersote, 011 tlm contra
ry. cannot he liable to this objection, ami posses
ses. to a lunch greater extent, the autisentic and
purifying properties of fim former. Tlm trials
which have been made with it, iu this country
and Europe have proved its efficacy.
It is strongly recommended liy fim Faculty ns

sweeten tho breath, rendered offensive by decay
ed teeth, tho uso of tobacco, or othor causns, nod
to arrest decay itself, it stands pro-eminent.
Ellis’s compound Kreosotc Tooth IVash, com
bine# fim virtnos of Kreosom, of toe strength
adapted for this purpose, with other substance*
known to bo highly advantageous iq whitening
and preserving fim teeth.
It is confidently recommended to the public as
n vnlunblo compound, which mny be used daily
with great ndvantnge to fim teeth and gums, ut the
same time leaving an ngroeabia sensation In tho
mouth. There is no acid in this wash, nor uny
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such as are highly beneficial to tlio teeth.
It has been examined and used by several of
tlm first J’hys'cinnsof this city, who Imvo no liosij

for too teeth aud gu ns, preventing the latter from
becoti ing spungy, aud, by its detergent and au-
