ELLIS’ COMPOUND
Krrosoto Tooth Wash.
. Ilecoinmtndcd by the Faculty. _
T IIIS cniiipound will be found serviceable in
arresting nnd preventing decay in teeth;
keeping the tenth aud gum* iu u healthy nnd clean
condition ; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar, nud relieving paineniised by carious teeth.
Few discoveries iu modern chemistry promi-o
more important results than that of Krcosote, hy
Dr. Knichdiihar.it, an eminent chemist of Blnns-
ko, iu Monrovia. It i* a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, and is analogous to
charcoal iu its antiseptic properties, hilt far more
powerful as a corrective and preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable as n denti
frice, on account of iu insolubility, nnd tho risk
of minute particles remaining between tho teeth
jind producing injury. Krcosote, on the contra
ry, cannot be liable to this objection, and posses-
s’cs, to a much greater extent, tho antiseptic nnd
purifying properties ofthe former.' Tho trials
which hnvo been mado with it. in this country
and Europe have proved its efficacy.
it is strongly recommended by tho Faculty ns
the host preventive against caries in tooth. To
sweeten tho breath, rendered offensive by decay
ed teeth, tho turn of tobacco, or other causes, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands nro-emltiont. .
Ellis's compound Krcosote Tooth Wash, com
bines the virtues of Krcosote, of tho strength
adapted for this purpose, with other substances
known to ho highly advantageous iu whitening
nnd preserving the teeth.
It is confidently recommended tatho public n*
a vnlunbio compound, which may ho used daily
with great advantage to llio teeth nud gum*, at the
same time leaving an agreeable sensation in the
mouth. There is no acid in this wash, nor any
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such ns are highly beneficial to the teeth.
It has been examined and used hy several of
tlm first Physicians of this city, who have no licsij
tatinit iu recommending it n» an excellent wasl\
for tho tooth and gimw, preventing tho latter from
heron iug spungy, nml, by its detergent apd.an-
tiseptic qualities, preserving both ili a clean and
healthy cond ition. For sale hy '
