LIVERPOOL, FEB. 26.—In reviewing the market transactions of the last four weeks, it may be noticed with regard to Cotton that in the firat fortnight .there was an improved demand from the trade, and greater firmneaa on the part or holders, so that prices on the 11th Inst, were |d to ftd per lb; highgr than on the 28th tilt. in American descrip tion!. In the early part of last week the demand eontinued, but after the receipt of tlio Cambria’s accounts, there appeared less disposition to pur r chase, and this led in the course of the week to a decline of ftd per lb. The character of the market in the wcqk ending to-day has been quiet, the sales to only small eitent, and {Alcoa again'ftd lower.— The total sales sinco28th January are 107,370 bales, including 83,340 American, of which speculator! have taken 9,300 bales, and Exporters 4,020 bales. There having been forwarded unsold into the in terior 1,870 bales American and GOO Surat*, it will be found that the aupplfgone for consumption Is 96,620 bales, or, sn average of 24,130 bales per week since 28lb ultimo, Notwithstanding the con tinued ee vine win - the-m«ney^ market,- the - Cotton trade romaias without any important Improvement in Manchester. The home domand la vory dull, and on the lns( market day the chief busineia waa in purchases for the Levant, and some low goods for India. Without a decided chango in the manu facturing districts, the maintenance of our present currency could not be depended on when the 1 pros pect of free supply from tho United States be comes nearer, which with our present small con sumption, would soon materially alter the position .of stocks, which are npw extraordinarily reduced. /lice.—Bull prices were obtained at the com mencement of the month for the finer qualities oj Bengal, owing to tboir being scarce, but large arri vals being freely offered a decline of 2s per cwt baa taken place, whllo inferior and middling are about la lower; Our stock here ie largo, but the home demand appears' to bo improving. Carolina it worth 17s to 18s for old, and life to 20s 6d per cwt for new. * LIVERPOOL, FEB. 25,-The sales during the pul two weeks amount to41,070 bales, of which 2,900 were on speculation. The octive demand noticed as existing at tho dato of_our last circular, continued with increased. vigor, end an upward tendoncy in prices until the 14th inst.j towards tho close of that day thero was a sensible falling off in tho demand, and since then tho Trado have pur chased sparingly] and the markot, boing little sup ported by either Speculators or' Exporters, lias re mained very dull. Prices may be quoted ftd. per lb. boiow those current on tho 11th inst. To-day there ha* been a better attendance of the Trade, and more disposition to purchase.
