street, at one o’clock this morning. Dowling and

gan four dollars and ooeU.
Robert Brown, a prominent member of tbo colored
porsuaslon, was found with somo seventy-five pounds
of railroad Iron in his possession, supposed to have
been stolon. His caso was referred to tho Chief
Detective for investigation.

road, where it had boon lying for a long time, and
thinking it was of no use to the road, he conclude 1
to appropriate it to bis own uso.
