powers, that because a man is once a subject, he is
always so, must be resisted at every hazard by the
I'nited States, as a relic of the feudal time, not author
ized by the law of nations, and at war w ith our national
honor and independence. Naturalized citizens are enti
ced to be piotected in all their rights of citizenship ns
•hough they were natural born, and no citizen of the
United States, native or naturalized, must be liable to
arrest and imprisonment, by any foreign power, for acts
•lone, or words spoken, in this country, ana if so arrested
and imprisoned, it is the duty of the Government to
interfere in his behalf.
10th. Os all who were faithful in the trials of the late
»ar. there were none entitled to more especial honor
than the brav - soldiers and seamen, who endured the
hardships of the campaign and cruise, and imperilled
their lives in the service of the country'. The bounties
aid pensions provided by law for these brave defenders
of the nation are obliagtiuiis never to be forgotten. The
widows and orphans of the gallant dead are the wards of
the people, a sacred legacy bequeathed to the nation’s
protecting care.
11th. Foreign immigration, which in the past has
added so much to the wealth, development of resources,
and increase of power of this nation, the asylum of the
ppressed of all nations, should be fostered and encour
aged by a liberal and just policy.
12th. This Convention declares its sympathy with all
oppressed people which are struggling for their
Official.

and towns upon the public lands,” approved
March two, eighteen hundred and sixty
seven.
Ij: it enacted by the Senate and I douse

inhabitants ol any town located 011 the public
land of the United States may avail them
selves, if the town authorities elect, so to do,
0) the provisions of the act ol March two,
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, entitled
An act for the relief of the inhabitants of

under the pre-emption and homestead laws:

fifty cents per acre, each acre so selected
shall be taken by the State in satisfaction ol
two acres, the minimum price of which is

in the eighth and ninth sections of the said
act admitting Nevada into the Union shall

Sec. “. And be it further enacted, That

establishment of an agricultural college by
the act ol July second, eighteen hundred and
sixty two, and the acts amendatory thereto,
shall he selected in the same manner and
of the same character ol lands as may

referred to in the first section of this act.
But this act shall not authorize the selection
of lands valuable lor mines t fgohl, silver,
quicksilver, or cupper,

hereafter, from time to time, ns circumstances
may require, to adjust the boundaries ol any
and all of the land districts in said State,

Gentlemen—lt. is now nearly eight years
that I h- v • suffered Irom Pneumonia, and
have had the best advice, but could not ho
cured. I was in the hospital 105 days, and
all that time I spat blood and matter, hut
seeing that I could'not get any better, 1
made up my mind and left ii. And, fortu
nately, I was met by a friend, who recom
mended Dr. Radway & Co.’s [ reparation.
After taking the first dose of Relief and
water, 1 could breathe with ease, and felt
all rny pains diminishing. I continued
taking two 1 Railway's Pills every night,
and a half teaspoonful ol Relief and water,
and also rubbing my chest and throat with
it, and, thank God, I feel myself perfectly
well. I only took ten bottles of Relief and
three boxes of Pills. I hope that the
authors of said preparation may have a long
and prosperous life.
