Revenue Cutter Hamilton, Capt, Rudolph, returned to Charleston on Saturday, from a cruise. She left that port on the 17th inat., and on Friday, the 18th, when about 70 miles from the bar, Charleston Light being W. N. W., and in latitude 31° 59', she fell in ^vith tho derelict ship Italy, of Bath, Me., "^heretofore reported. At five o'clock the same evening Lieut. Keliam and four men attached to the Cutter, went on board, and Captain Ru dolph endeavored to tow her into Charleston, but the wind increasing to a gale from S. E., and the ship, which was dismasted and rudder less, heiug entirely unmanageable, the hawser parted. Capt. Rudolph, however, lay by her for fifty hours, and on Sunday afternoon she was ugain hoarded, but the weather contin uing too boisterous to take her in tow, and (hern being no water or provisions on board, Capt. Rudolph concluded tlmt it wna most ex pedicnjJo abandon her, which he did in lati tude 3*2»17 / , and in about the middle of the stream. There was, moreover, n iurge hole near the atern post, through which, had not Lieu*. Keliam and his men stopped it up with a large bale of Cotton, she would have doubtless been filled with water during the gale. Capt. Rudolph informs the editor of the Courier, that she had on board about 2000 bales of Col ton, but tlmt everything moveable had been taken from her. It is thought that she is now somewhere in the neighborhood of Cane Fear. Gxn. Pierce's Carriage and Houses.— On Thursday, the splendid carriage and hor eea presented by the Boston pvople to Geu.
