for the oioction of a Dispensary Physician for each of
said districts, and to daolare the duties and 6x the com
pensation of each Dispensary Physician.
See. 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of
dinanee, the city be, and it is hereby dlvidud into four
Dispensary Districts, tho first to embraoo all that part
of the city boundod on the north by tho Savannah riv-
and on the west by the corporate limits ; the aecond to
ombra'''* rdl that part of the city bounded on the north
by the river, on the east by the corporate limits, on the
south by South Broad-street continued to the corpor ‘
limits,and on tho west by Jcfferson-atroet, continued
tho river ; the third to embrace all that part of the olty

the north by South Broad-street continued to tho coi
porato limits, on the east by the corporate limits, <

said, That there shall be elected ut the first tegular
meeting of Council after the passago of this ordinu
end annually thereafter on tfie first regular meeting in
July, a Dispensary Physician for each of said dis
tricts, whose duty it shall be to furnish tho destitute sick
within the limits of his district with nocessary medi
cines, to give them medical and surgical advice and at
tention, to visit them at thoir places of abode wheu ne
cessary to attend in person, or by competent substitute
at their offleoson every Monday aud Thursday, botwoan
tho hours of 10 o’clock, A. M. and I o’clock P. M., for
consultation with out-door patients, to keep always a
competout supply of vaccine matter for vaoinating the
poor and to furnish physicians, the latter to pay a rea
sonable and proper price therefor.
Sco. 3. Bo it further ordaiued by the authority afore-
snid. That the said Disponsary Physicians shall be oou-
sidt-red, held and taken as officers of tho city, and ahull
be liable to tho saino penalties for non-porforinanco or
negleot of any of tlioir official duties us are now pro
scribed in ease of other city officers.
Seo. 4. Be it further ordained by tho authority afore
said, That such Dispensary Physician before entering
on tho duties of his office shall take the oath prescribed
for city officers, and execute a bond with two securities
In tho penal sum of ono thousand dollars, conditional
for the faithful performance of the duties of his offioo.—
Each Disponnary Physician shall roaoivo in full com
pensation for mediufnes and sorviccs, a salary of COO
dollars per annum, payable monthly.
Seo. 6. Bo it further ordained by the authority afore
said, That ail ordinances aud parts of ordinances mili
