To Emma.
Spirit of air! thy purple wing*
Bend fleetly hither—thou haet taan'd
With gentieneae the golden itring*
Thai sigh’d beneath her fairy hand.
Breath in my eager ear the strain

Sigh out the eonl of song again,

Paint her in all ner loreliness.
The child of song tn bright -eyed belle.

Light np the waste of memory.
With eyee that oaee so joyous shone;
Bister of sleep 5—tarry with me,
▲nd then I will not feel alone.
Spirit of song!—thy harp I hear.
It whispera in a southern olime ;
It* etrings are wet with memory's tear,
The dew show'r form the wings of Time.
I call’d thee to my wayward lyre—
Away—there's madness In the trembling tone,
Emma! tench thou the trembling wiro,
And then I will not feel alone.

RHEUMATIC COMPOUND.
A ture and safe remedial agent for Ii he tuna
Hum in all its form*.
THE astonishingsuccoss which has attended this
I modioino in tho troatmont of Rhoumatio Com
plaints, either inflammatory (acute) or chronic, of no
matter what ooinplioatod form, or of long or short du
ration, renders it the most valuable preparation over
discovered, as tho sole reliable remedy for this dire
complaint; and so radical is it in its workings, that it
has secured tho aanotiou of many of the first physi
cians, who have used it as a dernier rsssort, without faith
in its merits, only to be oonvlnood of its miraculous
powers.
AIoktimohz’8 Compound is a vegetable extract, an
internal remedy, pleasing to the taste, harmless in its
effeots, and oan be administered to all agos and condi
tions without foar, prepared solely for the treatment
of this one disease.
It is a tonic, strengthening to the system generally,
whilst it soothes th# nerves, and imparts a healthy ac
tion to tho digostlvo organs, and purifies the blood.—
Thousands have already found relief and permanent
oure ; and in eaoh and every oasa where it has been
tested, it has invariably answered the purpose, never
having been known to fail.
Tbe proprietors foeljuatifled in thus assuring tho pub-
o of its virtues, as they base its merits entirely upon
its performances, and allow the latter only to bo men
tioned in its behalf. Testimoniale of the highest ohar-
aeter are daily reoeivod from various sections of tbe
Union, corroborating these facts, and giving additional
aud undoubted evidence of the virtues of this truly
great and reliable remedy.
