Ordinances of tho City of Savannah, passed in relation to Steps, Portiooos, Pavements, Trees, Ac. Sec. I. Bo it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah and the Hamlets thereof, I hat in lieu of Porticoes or Steps, it shall be lawful for the ow ner or owners of brick or stone houses, to erect co lumns thereto, not exceeding eighteen inches in diam eter, provided tho covering thereof is not less than ten foot high; and provided also, that said columns shall ho placed outside the curbstone and touching t e samo.
