it bus ploased Divine Providenco to remove frem
ir midst, and from this body, of which he was e
member, Wm. W. Arnold, representative of the
couuty of Pike. He wai in nttondanco- upon his
duties iu this bod/ last Friday woek complaining of
alight indisposition. Growing rapidly worse, he
taken to hie home by hie colleague, where, Bur-
rounded by the beat of friends he breathed his last
Friday night. In the heart's first warm flow, at
ioss of one endeared to us by private unobtru-
e virtues, we are apt to exceod the award of
airict justice in speaking of tho dead. But, to thoie
who knew tho deceased well aud long, it would be
hard, indeed to convince thorn that praise 6f- him
could be easily exaggerated. Retiring and modest
i a degree that did bis worth positive injustice, by
ithdrawing him too much from public notice, be
a« always a genuine man wheu put to the trial in
every part of duty. And in his private w?lk nooue
ould give a brighter practical example of tho beauty
of a chaste and manly deportment. Therefore
Resolved, That we have heard with deep sorrow,
ofthedomise of W. W. Abnold, Representative
elect, and lato member of this body from tbo county
of Pike, aud that wo regard his death as a loss to
this Branch of tbs General Assembly, and to the
community in which he lived.
Reiolvtd, That thie Hous * sincerely sympathise
ith the afflicted family of the deceased under their
bereavement, and as a testimony of their respect to
hii memory, tho members of this body will wear the
utuul badge of mourning during the session.
lUtolvtd, That these Resolutions be entered on
ths Journal of tbo House, and a copy thereof be
transmitted to the family of the deceased.
Resolved, That the Clerk transmit a copy to the
Seuate, and that the House adjourn for the day.
