IOiIi Division of the Penal Code, so as to mate
Polygamy and Bigamy punishable by imprisonnftnt
in the Peuitentiary for a term not less than eight nor
longer than fifteen years.
Mr. Young—A bill to establish a general system
of education in this State. This bill proposes to
set apart, in addition to the present poor School
Fund, so much of the profits of the Wostern and
Atlantic Railroad, as will constitute the sum of tao
bundled thousand dollars per annum.
Also—A bill io appropriate the sum of fifteen
hundred dollars for the completion of a road
Cooper's Gap, in the counties of Union and Lump
kin.
Also—A bill to allow John B. Chastain to plead
and practice Lew in all the Courts of Li
Equity in this Slute. * .
Mr. Pottle—A bill to provide a new oath in lUu
of the oue now administered to Grand Jurors.

The resolution to exclude all new mattor after tl •

up was agreed to—so after that date no new busi
es will bo allowed.

uni of Justices of the Superior Court from October,
to December, which wee lost and very properly no
doubt. . -
A bill to compensate Attorney and Solicitor gen
eral for their services in the Supreme Court, 1 whitli
was also lost.

Mr. Hull offered a resolution to the oftect that a
committee of 13 be eppoiutod, whose duty Ushallbe
report such alterations and amendments to the
Constitution as may be necessary to divide tho State
into Senatorial Districts—which was called up ai d
passed.
A bill, by Mr. Jones of Liberty, to alter the usury
laws, soas to allow all excessive per mintage over
the legal rate of Interest, as now established, to be
collectable as per contract between the parties in*
terested.
A bill for a Bunk in Griffin, to be called the “In
terior Bank of the State of Georgia"—Referred to
’Committee on Banks.
Oq motion of Mr. Cone, the order was suspended
to take up the House bill relating to the Court of
Dyer and Termiuer in the*City of Savanuah—Read
first time.
