Mxllkdokvillb, Dec. 13,1853. Mr. EditorThe Senate met at the usual hour this morning. Mr. Saffold reported a bill to amend tbo Ponal Code, and add au additional section to the snr Mr. Miller—A bill to incorporate “Bell Mill Fac :ory." Also—To provide fora call of a Conventiou to nango the Constitution of this State. The Conven convene next yenr, and 100 Copies were or- Jcred to he printed. Mr. Mosely introduced a resolution as to tho moot logs and adjournments of the Senate, including night «»»ions. Tho yeas and nays were called—41 yeas, sod 42 nays.—So the motion was lost and very prop- trly. Members have enough to do of Millhorse work in the day time, without night Sessions. Another new county bill was brought forward by Mr. Hubbard, to dismomber the counties of Carroll, Paulding and Polk. The bill for tho pardon of Bird was called up the regular order of the day. Some spoakiug was bad—and the bill put on its final paosago. On count- mr the yeas nud nays, they were found to be 41 The President, Col. Stall, decided it in favor of Bird by voting Yea.—Thus is the poor fellow saved by tne vote. Ho should be thankful for small favor*. The Senate had a long diseussion upon a bill de uced to effect lonus from tbe State to Railroad Companies, and the yeaa and nays were called for The yeas were 32, and the nays were 56.
