j|i from Liverpool, in the remarkable fine paOTage of 29
Rays. The Thomas, Higgins, and Juno, Miller, for
■ this port- failed 18 days before capt. Safford.
I The Boyne left Liverpool on the 18th September, but
■ have only obtained London papers to the 1 2th. ?
a y f eW days before the Boyne failed a dreadful fire broke
I out in the extensive warehouses on the south fide of St.
I George’s dock, Liverpool, which destroyed 1o or i2 of the
1 fineft ftotes in that city, and great quantities of cotton and
I Weft India produce. Fortunately for the flopping in tiie
9 t he tide was at its height when the fire was fir ft: difeo
-1 vere d, and they were speedily removed. The loss was es-
I timated at one million sterling.
I The Mercury, Stoddart, from this port, and Daphne,
I Malcolm, from Savannah, are arrived at Liverpool. The

INFORMATION being laid before Council, that the
Yellow Fever has made its appearance in the City of
Philadelphia,
It is ordered , That the Plealth Officer he directed to
order all veflels coming from the Port of Philadelphia to
be brought to at Cockfpur, and there to perform a qua
rantine of fifteen days, including their days of failing, and
that, during the performance of the said quarantine, the
woollen and cotton goods on board (ball be, on every fail
day, exposed to the open air, and the holds of the veflels
ventilated in the best possible manner, and that, after that J
time, they be permitted to come up as high as Five j
Fathom Hqle,'gpd there remain until they fnall receive 1
a certificate of health from the Plealth Officer.
Provided never tbelefs, That the above goods dial! be
exposed to the air, and the veflH ventilated, at leal! three
days before tbe said vviTel be permitted to come up to the
laid lalt place, notwjthftanding the fifteen davs from the
failing of the said veli’el may have before expired.
And it is farther ordered , That the Health Officer
compel the matters or commanders of veflels coming to this
port, with any articles fubjeff to p itrefaclion, and finding
the lame in a “decayed or unsound state, to land fucb articles
at any place-Vvhiqh the laid matter or commander may think
proper, lo that the said place be not higher up the river than
five Fathom Hole; and that in such case the laid vcfil l
fliail be well ventilated,, at lealt three days after the dis
charge of ttidi decayed or unsound articles, before Pne is
allowed to fail up,to Savannah.
And U is further ordered, That all persons contraven
ing thei’e orders hiall be prokented as the quarantine law
diredfe,

ON the petition of Joseph Miller and Cochran M<CWe,
admhiiftrators of John M‘Call, surviving cooartner
of M‘CaJl and Burton, Hating, that the said M‘Call and
Burton, in their lives, were pofleffed of a certain promis
sory note, ttgned by James James, bearing date the fix
teentli day of March, seventeen hundred and ninety-fix,
for the payment of three hundred and forty-feven dollars
td ty -fix and an half cents, together with an affidavit of the
laid Joseph Miller, Hating, that the said note has been
loft, or accidentally destroyed, and praying the benefit.of
an aft of Afiembly in such case made and provided, it is
ordered, 1 hat the said note be effeblifhed, agreeably to
the- act of Afiembly aforefaid, on the said Joseph Miller
and Cochran M‘Clure their publifliing a copy of this rule,
for the space of fix months, in one of the public gazettes
of this state, unless cause (hall be fliewn to the contrary
within the said fix months, or otlier matter fliail appear ti
