Position: Director of Business Services
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in business administration or a
related business field with at least five years of extensive supervisory experience in the major
procurement areas. Preference will be given to candidates with procurement experience in
the University System of Georgia, an agency of the State of Georgia of Federal agency (i.e.,
Department of Defense, Armed Services, etc.). Demonstrated competence as evidenced by
membershipin professional organizations such as CPM. Demonstratedknowledge of modern
purchasing techniques, bidding procedures and contract negotiation. The candidates should
have excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work effectively with a broad
spectrum of people in a residential college setting. Strong orientation toward customer service
and experience with automated procurement systems. Knowledge of PC based applications
(Lotus, Quattro Pro, word processing).
Major Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President for business and finance, this
position is responsible for the supervision of a team of employees that include professional,
clerical and student workers. The director serves as the Agency Procurement Officer,
designated as the State of Georgia's agent responsible for all college procurement. This
includes purchases of all goods, materials, supplies and services at the College, responsible
for business services including stores and warehouses, travel services, institutional credit
card services. Maintains policies and procedure in accordance with federal, State of Georgia
and institutional procurement regulations.
Salary: Negotiable. Commensurate with experience and education.
Effective date of appointment: March 1, 1995

Business & Finance Jan. 10, 1995
Position: Director of Campus Safety
Responsibilities: The Director reports to the Vice President for Business and Finance and
is responsible for managing all aspects of the Campus Safety Department. Duties include
administrative leadership of the department, managing the budget, supervising and training
of the campus police officers, managing campus safety and loss programs, managing
campus parkingand communications center, working closely with the Office of Student Affairs
and other student groups, coordination of environmental health and safety programs for the
campus, formulating and establishing policies and procedures for the Campus Safety
Department. The Director will work closely with the surrounding neighborhoods and maintain
an effective relationship with local law enforcement agencies.
Minimum Requirements: Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree (master's preferred) in
criminal justice, public administration or a related field with certification from a law enforce
ment management program such as the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Applicant
should be an accomplished administrator with progressively responsible public safety, law
enforcement or comparable experience within a college or university setting. A knowledge of
criminal and civil law and the court system is required. Applicants should demonstrate proven
leadership and management skills, effective communication, and the ability to relate
sensitively to students and other members of the campus community. At least three years of
law enforcement experience in an administrative position is required. This is a security
sensitive position. All applicants are subject to a criminal records check.
Salary: Competitive. Commensurate with experience and education. Excellent benefit
