New 81-LO in Daniel Village
Last Wednesday, Nov. 15, a
new 81-LO supermarket re
placed the old Daniel Village lo
cation, and serves as the anchor
for the newly revitalized shop
ping center. The Grand Opening
ceremony was held at 9 p.m. that
night.
As part of the celebration, the
first 200 81-LO customers received
free merchandise. There was also
food sampling, free balloons and
coloring books for children and
appearances by the 81-LO Baby
Bull mascot. Customers can also
register to win a trip to one of four
college bowl games (Citrus, Or
ange, Carquest or Outback) which
includes tickets, airfare and ac
commodations for four people.
The management team is head
ed by Ken Fehrenbach, store
manager, who will report direct
ly to Rodney Thigpen, district
manager. Mr. Fehrenbach is as
sisted by Joey Johnson, assis
tant manager, Greg Padgett and

Walter’s Produce, Seafood
Shoppe, a Floral Shoppe, spe
cialty foods and a wide selection
of general merchandise. The
Customer Service Center will
offer money-order services and
photo processing. As an addi
tional convenience, the new Au
gusta 81-LO will accept Visa,
Mastercard and bank debit cards.
This store will employ approxi
mately 125 associates.
81-LOhas operated its current
Daniel Village store for 11 years,
and operates 261 stores in South
Carolina, North Carolina, Ten
nessee and Georgia.
