THE AARP AUGUSTA CHAPTER 266 will
hold its first annual rummage sale on Satur
day, November 25, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at

AUGUSTA TECH will kick off the Holiday
Season with its Second Annual Christmas
Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, No
vember 30, at 6:00 p.m. The celebration
begins with Christmas carols and the lighting
of the Augusta Tech Christmas tree in front of
the 100 Building on campus. Afterward, the
public is invited to the Augusta Tech Institute
cafeteria for cookies, hot cocoa and coffee,
face painting for the kids and a visit from jolly
old Saint Nick. The public is invited to this
festive event. Augusta Tech is located at 3116

THE FORT GORDON SIGNAL CORPS MU
SEUM will be closed for a Department of the
Army inspection November 14 through De
cember 5. The museum is at the intersection
of Avenue of the States and 36th Street. When
it reopens December 5, the museum will oper
ate regular hours of: Tuesday - Friday, 8:00
a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m.
Closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays. The
Signal Corps Museum is open to the public.

THE FRESH START PROGRAM, hosted by
the Medical College of Georgia Comprehensive
Cancer Center and the American Cancer Soci
ety to help people stop smoking, will be held on

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL will present a Live
and Learn Program at the University Hospital

DIABETES CENTER AT AUGUSTA REGION
AL MEDICAL CENTER WILL HAVE A FREE
HEALTH SCREENING. Blood pressure, blood
sugar, and cholesterol screening will be of
fered to the community on Thursday, Novem
ber 30, 1995 from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. The
screenings will be held in education class
rooms 1 and 2 located on the first floor of the

VOLUNTEERS
THE SENIOR CITIZENS COUNCIL is seeking
volunteers to deliver meals to homebound
senior citizens in the Augusta area. To be part
of the Senior Citizens Council’s Meals-On-
Wheels program, volunteers are needed for
about an hour between 10:30-11:30a.m. Vol
unteers may deliver meals on a scheduled
basis as little as once aweek or may serve inan
occasional backup basis. All volunteers are
provided with an orientation to their routes and
delivery procedures. For more information

POET JENNA McCRAE will read from her
new book Sunlight and Brickwork: Artistic
Impressions of Augusta, Georgia, a collabo
ration with artist Karen Lind-Banker, on Tues
day, November 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Magno

CORLEY will be on hand to autograph copies of
her newly re-published book, Confederate
City, Augusta, Georgia (1860 - 1965) on

lia’s literary series, the readings by Ms. McCrae

SECOND ANNUAL CPR SATURDAY will of
fer a FREE certified adult CPR class to the first

Chapter of the American Red Cross’ way of
saying thanks to the community and to give

TUESDAY’S MUSIC LIVE downtown concert
series on November 28 will feature'the magic
flute of James Zellers at noon in the sanctuary
