Lauds benefits of Project Success
Occasionally, I applaud Com
missioner Moses Todd’s self-ap
pointed role as the ethical over
seer of the county. However, I
believe Commissioner Todd is
misdirected and should look else
where regarding his recent at
tack on Project Success.
Although I am not connected
with Project Success, I was invit
ed to attend last year’s Project
Success awards program and
know several young people who
have greatly benefited from this
program. Project Success is a
program very much needed by
the Augusta community. We
need more programs like it.

donors give
gift of life
How many of you have a stigk
er or seal on the back of your
license indicating you are an or
gan donor? For many years I
have had a sticker on my license,
although it wasn’t until recently
thatlreally begantothink about
what this meant. Having just
relocated to Atlanta from Phila
delphia, I was looking to become
involved in an organization
where I could not only meet peo
ple, but also feel like I was doing
something worthwhile with my
time. Getting back to the seal on
the back of my license, I've al
ways felt it to be important to be
an organ/tissue donor. The orga
nization I chose to volunteer for
is Life Link of Georgia. Here I've
met people from all different
walksandrolesinlife... menand
women, moms and dads, sons
and daughters, husbands and
wives ... all have come together
for one common cause, the im
portance of spreading the word
about giving life. Volunteering
for Life Link allows me to both
giveandreceive ... which is what
the holidays are all about. None
of us know when a loved one or
friend may need tissues or an
organ(s). I'm enjoying giving my
time and knowledge so that there
will always be tissue/organ do
nors cut there. Most important,
what I receive is a good feeling
and satisfaction of knowing that
others will benefit in the long
run ...

While everything has a price,

Commissioner Brigham, asthe_
founder and major supporter of
Project Success, should be com
mended as well, for recognizing’
a community need and finding:
the means to address it. It would
be a very sad day if politics be--

Project Success is a worthwhile:
program which deserves Com
