Zell Miller said after the luncheon that if the ERA is introduced in the Senate on the first day of the session as ex pected, he intends to call it up for a vote before lawmakers adjourn for President-elect Jimmy Carter’s inauguration in mid-January. Miller said he be lieves it will pass the Senate this year despite considerable opposition. “A number of senators who voted against it in 1975 have told me they are leaning to ward supporting it now,” Miller said. (AP) — A 37-year-old Shiloh man was killed Monday by a train he apparently didn’t see, the state patrol said. Join Board of Regents ATLANTA (AP) — Attorneys Scott Candler Jr. of DeKalb County and O. Torbitt Ivey Jr. of Augusta will be sworn in Thursday to seven-year terms on the state Board of Regents, Gov. George Busbee announced Monday. Busbee said Candler will replace Dr. John R. Richard son of Conyers in the 4th congressional district post and Ivey will succeed Dr. John A. Bell Jr. of Dublin for an at large post. Prisoner recaptured REIDSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A Reidsville prisoner serving three life sentences for robbery convictions in Fulton County escaped from the facility Monday, but was recaptured less than two hours later, authorities said.
