The new formula ordered Monday deletes subsidies for routes which the Civil Aero nautics Board believes now generate enough traffic to be fi nancially viable without federal support. The order is retro active to July 1, 1976. The CAB had notified the sev en regional airlines involved of the proposed change in their subsidies for flying unprofitable routes to small cities. Southern’s treasurer and vice president for finance, A. L. Maxson, said Tuesday the At lanta-based carrier had made adjustments in its earnings re ports for the expected change. He said Southern expects to turn a profit this year even with the cutback. Maxson said the airline actually received just under |6 million last year. Shirley Black PLAINS, Ga.
