Kmart promotes
Griffin manager
Daniel Brazelton, manager of
the Griffin Kmart store, has
been promoted to manage a
larger Kmart store in
Huntsville, Ala.
The promotion comes after
much work on the part of
Brazelton in opening and
assuring the successful
operation of the Griffin store.
Brazelton has been working
with Kresge Company (which
operates the Kmart stores)
since he graduated from high
school in Detroit, Mich.
"I studied architectural
engineering as a senior in high
school,’’ said Brazelton. “Then
I went on to the University of
Michigan to major in it. While
there I realized that I enjoyed
working with Kresge more than
engineering, so I joined in their
management training
program.”
From 1963 to 1968, Brazelton
worked his way through the
assistant managers’ program.
He became assistant manager
of a Kresge store in Detroit in
1968. By 1974 he had worked as
assistant manager of Kresge
stores in Saginaw, Mich., and in
Sinclair Shores, Mich.
In 1974, Brazelton was
transferred to Atlanta, where
he worked as co-manager of the
Kmart store at Greenbriar
Shopping Center until October
of that year when he moved to

Dating service
WILMETTE, 111. (AP) -
Gary Orman’s dating service
gives customers a chance to see
what they’re getting.
A new customer sits in a stu

feeds in videotapes of dating
prospects. The customer picks
out several he or she likes. Then
Orman cuts a videotape of the
customer to show to the
prospects he has chosen. If
there is mutual agreement, Or
man provides the telephone
numbers and the customers are
on their own to get acquainted.
The service has attracted 400
members in two months, said
Orman, 29, who runs the busi

He charges men SB9 for six
months. Women pay $49.
Two marriages and five en

‘Sissy’ Branch
doing very well
Miss Barbara Ann “Sissy”
Branch is “doing very well”
according to her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Branch.
Miss Branch, 19, was injured
seriously in a Jan. 13 traffic
accident near Milner which took
the life of her brother, Bobby,
20.
Presently she is a patient at
Georgia Baptist Hospital in
Atlanta where she is expected to
remain in traction for some 11
weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Branch credit
their daughter’s improved
condition to the care she
received while in the Griffin-
Spalding Hospital.
“I feel without a doubt, if it
wasn’t for the special care she
had in the emergency room and
the intensive care unit, our loss

The Branches expressed
appreciation to their many
friends at the hospital’s y
intensive care unit and to the
doctors who took such a special
interest in their daughter. They
noted that Dr. Grady Duke
stayed with her 24 hours
straight “when her life was just
barely there.”
They also thanked those who
offered blood and the many
other kindnesses of prayers,
flowers and kind words during
the tragedy.
“It’s just great to know that
we have the fine facilities at our
hospital and the good people
that work there who take a
genuine interest in you”,
Branch said.
