There will be a limited number of students accepted for
Four-Year-Old Kindergarten thru Second Grade.
Registration Fees are as follows:
Kindergarten $25.00
Grades 1 thru 12 $37.50
No one family will pay more than $75.00 for registration
fees.
There will be a SIO.OO late fee for applications ac
cepted after August Ist.

New manager
Don Lannam has been named
manager of the Sears store in
Griffin and will move his wife
and four children here with him.
He will come from Atlanta
and has 12 years experience
with the company.

Strange affection

Griffin gets Family Dollar Store
Family Dollar Store with
headquarters in Charlotte,
N.C., has leased the former
Winn-Dixie building on West
Taylor street.
Officials hope to move into the
building by April 17, according
to Clayton Brown, who leased :

Varnadoe joins Air Force
Preston T. Varnadoe, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Varnadoe
Jr., of Route 1, Griffin, has
decided to enlist in the U.S. Air
Force, according to Air Force
Staff Sergeant Eddie Goins of
the Jonesboro recruiting office.
On March 31, he is scheduled
to board a jet airliner for
Lackland Air Force Base, near
San Antonio, Texas, where he
will undergo six weeks of basic
military training. Upon
completion of basic, he will
receive his specialized

Moose to honor Moore
at mid-year conference
An enrollment class in honor
of Governor General Phillip R.
Moore of the Supreme Lodge of
Moose will inaugurate the
annual mid-year conference of
the Georgia State Moose
Association Thursday night at
Moose Lodge.
Governor Sam Cecil
announced that close to 75
candidates will be enrolled.
Delegations are expected from
Newnan, Carrollton, Henry
County, Barnesville, Albany

reports to
Okinawa
Marine Lance Corporal Paul
E. Godwin, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Godwin of 1201 N.
Nineth St., Griffin, has reported
for duty with Marine Aircraft
Group 36, First Marine Aircraft
Wing, Marine Corps Air Station
Futema, Okinawa.
A 1974 graduate of Griffin
High School, he joined the
Marine Corps in June 1974.
