Hike-Bike benefit
for retarded here
The Griffin Jaycees and the
Griffin Youth Association for
Retarded Citizens will sponsor
the annual Hike-Bike Saturday.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
and the ride will begin at 9:30
a.m. The ride will begin and end
at the First United Methodist
Church parking lot.
The Krystal Kritters will be
Ladies Night
Ladies Night will be observed
Thursday night at the Moose Lodge by
the Griffin Rotary Club, beginning at 7
p.m.
Open house
The Griffin Historical and
Preservation Society will have open
house Sunday, April 3 at the Lewis Mills
House, located on North Hill street
from 3 to 5 p.m.
Supper
The deacon and usher boards of Mt.
Pleasant Baptist Church will sponsor a
spaghetti supper Friday night,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the church
basement. Tickets are $1.50. Fish plates
will also be available. Proceeds will go
to the building fund project.
Nominations
for judgeship
due by March 31
Anybody who wants to
nominate someone to be a judge
in the Griffin Judicial Circuit
needs to get his letter in by
March 31.

The General Assembly in 1977

Association for Retarded
Citizens to help with the
construction of a facility for the
mentally retarded.
Parents were reminded that
children under the fourth grade
level in school must be
accompanied by an adult.

The Junior Achievers will
stage a trade fair during the
next two weekends. They will
convert a soft drink truck into
an old fashioned rolling stone
where the products
manufactured by the local

Beginning Thursday at 4
p.m., the rolling trade fair will
be at shopping centers,
downtown and parking lots.
Achievers will attend their
company’s display, selling their
products and answering
questions about the JA
program.
Their products include:
plastic picture frames, jewelry
boxes, “BEARS” or personal
ized license plates, ladies
scarves, solid wood toys,
serving trays, and heavy-duty
aluminum coat hangers.
