The announcement was made last night at the club’s annual Ladies’ Night meeting. Blake, president of Blake Builders Supply, will begin his administration in July. His father, the late Otis Blake, Sr., was president of the Griffin club in 1938. Other officers announced at the meeting are: Allen Marshall, 111, vice president; Jerry T. Walker, secretary; Arthur Hammond, treasurer, and Ray Esary, Sergeant-at arms. Walker and Hammond will be serving their second terms. Directors for 1977-78 are: Dr. Jim Dunaway, Jim Pridgen, Jr., Warren Story, Larry Stover, Al Thrasher and Carter Greenway. Rotary is an international service organization of business and professional men. The Griffin club has 125 members and was chartered March 7, 1924. Sen. Shapard is reappointed State Senator Virginia Shapard of Griffin has been reappointed to the Education Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures for a two year term. Lieutenant Governor Zell Miller appointed her. HUNGARIANS BIG ON SMOKING BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungarians are second only to Americans in the smoking of cigarettes, according to statis tics published here. The annual per capita consumption in this country of 10.5 million is 3,750 cigarettes. The statistics, compiled by Dr. Laszlo Vertes and Dr. Nan dor Kun, put Canada in third place, followed by Switzerland, Britain, Poland, Japan and Bul garia.
