Service awards
Five Crompton-Highland employees were presented
service awards. The five represented a total of 90 years
continuous service. Pictured (1-r) Russell Brazier, 25
years; Linda Mullins, 10 years; and Clarice Scarbary, 10
years. Andrew Chasteen, 40 years and Grace Willis, 5
years, also got awards.

happening
Car wash
The Landmark Church of God’s youth
department will sponsor a car wash
Saturday, in the church parking lot,
from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. $3.00 per car.
Coffee break
The Friendly CB Club will hold a
coffee break at the National Guard
Armory beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The public is invited.
Choir concert
The Wesley College Choir of
Florence, Miss., will be at the First
Congregational Methodist Church
Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The choir
under the direction of Mrs. Patsy
Gilmore will present a musical
program. The church, located on
Woodlawn drive, is pastored by the
Rev. Gilbert Howard.
Hanleiter
Revival services will begin April 3 at
Hanleiter United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Jack Gillespie of Walton
County as guest evangelist. The pastor,
the Rev. Elvyn McDonald will be song
leader. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. and
a nursery will be provided.
Egg hunt
An egg hunt will be held Sunday,
beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Elks Club,
sponsored by the gospel choir of the
Achaia Baptist Church.
Art show
The Fayette County High School
Art Club will have an art show and
greenhouse sale Saturday beginning at
8 a.m. and continuing throughout the
day at the school.

Accidents injure 4 people in area
At least 4 people were injured
in separate traffic accidents
Thursday, including 2 children.
Michelle King, 6, of 533 East
Tinsley street, suffered
abrasions and severe hand
injuries when she fell from a
moving car on Kalamazoo road.
After treatment in the Griffin-
Spalding emergency room, she
was transferred to Northside
Hospital in Atlanta.
Robert Tuten, 6, of 1190 West
College extension was carried
to the Griffin hospital for
treatment of injuries he suf
fered when his bicycle was hit
by a car.
No other details on either
accident were available from
the Griffin Police Department
this morning.
Steve Johnson, 20, was
transferred from the Griffin-
Spalding Hospital to Clayton
General Hospital for treatment
of a head injury.
He was injured when his Jeep
overturned on Green Valley
road, east of Griffin.
Helen Mae Allen, 23, of Ellis
street, was injured in an ac
cident involving 3 cars at West
Solomon and 12th streets
Thursday morning.
