Fallin receives promotion Marine Lance Corporal Victor L. Fallin, son of Ellie J. Fallin of 650 Bieze street, Griffin, has been promoted to his present rank while serving with Force Troops, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific, Marine Corps Base, Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. He joined the Marine Corps in March 1975. Methodists plan special revival The Senoia United Methodist Church will conduct a special revival service May 1-6. The annual homecoming will feature the Rev. James Welden, a former member of the Senoia church, as homecoming speaker. However, the revival, which begins with homecoming, will feature the Rev. Barbara Brokhoff as preacher. Services will meet nightly at 7:30 p.m. with a nursery provided. The Rev. Kenneth Deitle is pastor. Wilson is a retired Methodist minister and is serving as interim pastor at Hollinville Methodist Church. The couple plan to return to their home in Illinois for the celebration. Rollins is on Med. tour Navy Airman Recruit Larry E. Rollins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Huckaby of 407 E. Brooks avenue, Griffin, has departed for an extended deployment in the Mediterranean Sea. He is serving as a crewmember aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence, homeported in Norfolk, Va. While deployed, his ship will operate as a unit of the U.S. Sixth Fleet. During the cruise, his ship is scheduled to participate in numerous training operations and exercises with other Sixth Fleet units and ships of allied nations, and to visit various Mediterranean ports. He joined the Navy in August 1976. Ann Slade makes A.U. dean’s list Ann Slade, a junior journalism major at Auburn University, has been named to the dean’s list for the winter quarter. Miss Slade is the daughter of Dr. Ira Slade of Griffin and Mrs. Dorothy Slade of Augusta. Lynn manning Sells record number of Girl Scout cookies Six-year-old Brownie Girl Scout Lynn Manning of Griffin, has won the annual Girl Scout Council Cookie Award for selling the most cookies in the fourteen-county Pine Valley Girl Scout Council area. Lynn, who is a first grader in troop 158 at Fourth Ward School, sold 624 boxes of cookies. She won the local association award also. Lynn’s mother, Mrs. Dick Manning, says Lynn actually walked with her and rang every doorbell and did the selling. At the meeting the new slate of officers for the coming term was elected Mrs. Walter E. Carl of Carrollton was elected president of the council for a three-year term. She had just completed serving six years as second vice president of the council. Mr. Robert Glover was elected to second term as secretary on the board of directors. Mrs. John Allison and Mrs. Ted Hughes, both of Griffin, were elected to the board of directors as members at-large. Certificates of appreciation were given to Sue Fowler, John Allison, Cynthia Smith, Sydney Aaron and Brenda Mitchell, all of Griffin. This certificate recognizes these people for distinguished service to Girl Scouting. The Second Mile Award, given to any person who has given consistently unusual service, over and beyond the call of duty, to Girl Scouting over a period of years, was presented to Dr. Dale Carley, of Griffin. Awards presented to people who were absent from the Council meeting will be given at the Red Pine Association meeting in Griffin at a local restaurant on May 5.
