222 South 14th street.
The service, directed by Mrs.
Clayton Hoskins, also helps
round up furniture and other
household articles for those who
have lost their belongings in
fires.

Adventists need donations
In recent weeks matresses,
bedding, dishes, kitchen
appliances and other items
have been donated to fire
victims.
Several have asked for
Bibles, Mrs. Hoskins said.
Boxes of clothing have been
sent to Central State Hospital in
Milledgeville and to area
nursing homes.
Mrs. Hoskins issued a plea for
more donations. Expecially
needed are baby clothing, extra
large women’s sizes, sheets,
blankets, bedspreads and other
bedding, Bibles, dishes and any
types of household articles.
They may be brought to the
center on Sundays from 3 to 5
p.m. and Tuesdays from 10 a m.
to noon. Mrs. Hoskins may be
contacted at her home in
emergencies.
Col. Baker
in naval
hospital
Colonel R.R. (Bobby) Baker,
retired, former Griffinite, is in
the National Naval Medical
Center, Bethesda, Md., after
undergoing surgery.
Henry Baker of Griffin, says
he is in good condition and will
be there for at least a week.

Presentation
Mrs. Grace Smoak (r), president of the UDC in Griffin, presents the World War II Cross of

direct descendant of Francis Power who served as a lieutenant in Company E, Georgia

the latest energy saving
appliance items from Oster.
