Taylor - Griffin Braves lose 11th straight ATLANTA (AP) - “I wouldn’t call it a series,” said Pittsburgh Manager Chuck Tanner. “I’d say he had a month for three days here.” It really wasn’t quite that good, but it was an impressive three-game set for Pirate out fielder Dave Parker, who smacked a pair of two-run dou bles Wednesday night as the Bucs handed the Atlanta Braves their 11th straight defeat, 8-0. Parker had belted two home runs the previous night and fin ished the series with seven hits and eight RBI, helping the Pi- WELCOME WOMEN to the special women’s self-defense 8 week class of TAE KWON DO Overseas Membership Affiliation Starts May 12th Thursday Night 7:00 to 9:00 Griffin Nat’l Guard Armory Professional Instruction Dr. Daeshik Kim, 6th Degree Black Belt Tae Kwon Do Advisor Atlas Jesse King, 3rd. Someone suggested to Parker that he could make a pretty good living if he played 81 games a year in Atlanta Sta dium. “I can make a living any where,” he replied. “I consider myself a pretty good ball play er.” But, Parker said he doesn’t consider himself a home run hitter. “I don’t think I’m going to hit a whole lot of home runs,” he said. “A lot of people think I’ll hit 30, but I doubt it." And, he added, “The ball car ries so well here it brings out the best in a hitter.” Parker has been on a hot streak all season. He extended his hitting string to 16 straight games Wednesday night and lifted his average to .416 and his RBI total to 24. “This is about the best start I’ve ever had,” he said. “Usu ally I’m a slow starter.” Parker provided all the of fense the Bucs needed and Lar ry Demery and Kent Tekulve combined on a five-hit shutout.
