EMT’s have delivered two babies during the two year existence of the Emergency Medical Ser vice. Both were boys bom In the same ambulance unit to Carolyn Miller, 19, of McDonough. The young woman was about to give birth to her third child Thursday morning while en route to the Clayton facility. EMT’s Robert Hill and Dean Lindsey realized the baby’s birth was imminent. The two man team immediately pulled over at McDonough Power Equip ment to deliver a six pound, eleven ounce boy bom at 2:53 a.m. After delivery, mother and child were carried to the hospital. Although both babies were bom in an ambulance unit of the Henry County Emergency Medical Ser vice, Tavores was three months premature, while brother Quincy Andrea Weems was two weeks overdue. There were no complication in either birth, BMT’s said. The birth of the two babies are the only ones that had necessitated delivery by the Emergency crew before reaching the hospital destination. The woman’s oldest child, LaWanda Weems, is a year and a half old. In speaking of the birth of Cave state Missouri, which is known as the “Cave State,” still ranks number one in caves. In early 1977, the state reported a total of 3,507 known caves, marking an increase of 194 newly-found caves in 1976.
