Black, Program Director. The present grant brings to a total of over $308,000 received from NIH since the program began at Fort Valley State College in March 1974. Dr. Black explained that the proposal had to undergo a dual review process. The first was a site visit by a team of scientists and consultants who came to Fort Valley’s campus in October 1976, to ascertain the soundness of the proposal, and to assess the benefits which could, be expected to accrue both to the institution and to the nation in biomedical research training.
