(AP) - Da vid Allen and Calvin Clarke, two players from arch-rival high schools in southwest Atlanta, teamed up for first half touch downs to lead the North to a 20-8 victory over the South in the Georgia All-Star football game Thursday night. Allen, of Sylvan High, went over from the two for the first North touchdown with 6:39 left in the first period at DeKalb Memorial Stadium. Benny Par- Braves win By ED SHEARER AP Sports Writer ATLANTA (AP) - Eddie Solomon thought he was headed for his first major league com plete game, but then he made a mistake—running the bases. “I’m just going to have to stay off the bases,” Solomon said Thursday night after pitching the Atlanta Braves to a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Expos. “Every time I run I hurt my ankle,” he said. Solomon had just worked out of an eighth-inning bases-loaded jam when he singled in the bot tom of the eighth. Another hit followed and as Solomon round ed, second he felt his ankle give way and scrambled back to the bag on his stomach before leaving the game. “I had jammed it before and if it hadn’t been taped, it could have been worse,” he said, walking on crutches after the game. Solomon was to undergo X rays today. The young right-hander had yielded six hits in the first three innings, including a two-run homer to Gary Carter, before settling down to retire 11 straight batters at one point.
