the registration process at Gordon Junior College. They

Needlework rules
Mrs. Ronald Massey, chairwoman, announced the rules
for needlework exhibits at the Spalding County Fair. They
are:
1. All entries must be the handiwork of the exhibitor to be
eligible for a prize.
2. All anticipated entries must be registered and delivered
to the main fair building in center of fairgrounds, Thur
sday or Friday, preceding the fair, from 9 a.m. to noon
and from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
No entries will be accepted on Saturday; judging only will
be done on this date.
3. All articles listed will be accepted provided they are
less than a year old and have not been previously entered
in the Spalding County Fair, and are in excellent con
dition.
4. Neither the Fair Association nor any individual will be
responsible for any injury to person or exhibit entered in
the fair, but the best of care and attention will be exer
cised to prevent any injury or loss to persons or exhibits.
5. Number of articles entered by any exhibitor in one
group of any one class will be limited to one.
6. Because of the limited exhibit space we will be unable to
include handicraft. All articles entered must be made
with a needle, such as sewing needle, knitting, crocheting,
etc.
7. All articles must be left on display throughout the entire
fair. Anyone entering articles in the needlework display
will not be able to pick up these articles unitl Sunday, the
day after the fair closes, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Sisterhood
at Center
gets going
The Police Youth Center
Sisterhood organization today
began registration of present
and new members. Parents
must accompany their
daughters, ages 4-17 for
registration at the center.
A Wednesday night activity
has been called off and will be
rescheduled.
Adult leaders also are being
recruited for the organization.
Registration will continue 9-5
each day through Friday
Pike house bums
Fire destroyed the home of
Mrs. Billie Kenway on the
Griffin-Zebulon road Monday
afternoon.
The Zebulon Fire Department
sent a truck to the scene but
when it arrived the house fire
was beyond control.
Mrs. Kenway’s son, Cecil
Kenway, is employed by the
city of Zebulon.

at Moore Elementary put on a skit related to their study of

Gordon offers
nursing
management
Nursing management will be
offered at Gordon Junior
College this fall for nurses in
positions of leadership and
those who are interested in
advancement.
Gordon is offering the course
in response to requests in this
area. Mrs. Marie Lo Monaco,
chairman of the division of
nursing at Gordon, will teach
the course at the college on
Thursday evening, Oct. 13, 20,
27, Nov. 3 and 10. The class will
meet from 7-9 in Room LGO4,
Lambdin Hall.
Registration for the course
will be held from 6-7 p.m. in
Gordon’s registrar’s office
(Lambdin Hall) on Thursday,
Oct. 13.
The course will include the
following topics, planning and
organization, communication,
motivation of staff, decision
making and problem solving.
Additional information may
be obtained from the
Admissions office or the nursing
division, Gordon Junior College.
