Fornurifylng tho blood, and reidovingall diaoas-

curia! Diseases, and for assisting tlio operation
and provonting fatal consequences of Alercuriala
in Syphnlns.
Tins preparation, (by adding tho Queen s De
light, &c. to Uie Sursapariila,) combines in a more
perfect dogroo tlian liny known'*remedy, tonic
and alterative powers, and is highly rocomitiond-
od by omiiiout physicians. It is prepared in can-
scquenco of the recommendations givon by Dr.
II. R. Frost, Professor of Alutoria Medico in tho
Afodicai College of Charleston, S. C. in his work
on Materia Alediea, only concentrated by a pro
cess of tlio subscriber's to ronder it inoro conven
ient for administration, nud with tlio oxcoption of
tho addition of mercury which may at all tinios bo
added when necessary. To show tho high esti

Thera nro few cases of chronic and painful
Rliomimtism that will not yiold to tho inllueiico of
Sarsaparilla «nd Queen's Delight if duly prose-
vored ill, especially if takon iu conjunction with
llydr. of Potash.
Is highly recommended for all disoasos of tho
skin, chronic ns well ns recent. Ono bottlo wilt,
in most instances, effectually remove all pimples,
postulcs or hjotchos on tho face, to which young
porsons in this climate nro so much subjected to,
arising either from impurity of tlio blood or de
bility. It is tlio host remedy known for scrofu
lous affections, sores nud breakings out iu young
children, and is safe nnd ollicacious iu removing
entirely every traco of hereditary disoasos from
tlio systom, in the teuderust infant; in fact, in all
cutaneous affections it is invaluable. As a gen
eral purifier of tlio blood, anil nn orndicator of nil
obstinate disposes, this preparation will undoubt
edly take tlio precedence of all othor remedies. It
gently operates upon nnd rognlatos tho bowels,
restores to tlio blood its woutod purity, gives lono
to tho stomach, and promotes digestion.
It will effectually relieve Erysipelas even ill its
worst stages, and all persons suffering from this
distressing complaint are advised to use it, first
so, but if no marked relief bo found after taking
one bottlo, it will bo necessary to usd the Hydrin-
dated Potash with it.

QUALITIES OP MAIIY's PLASTER CLOTH.
The Plaster Cloth is so well known throughput
tho United States, but more generally in the city
of Philadelphia, that its beneficial effects nnd sur
ging cures, havo procured for it tho nnproba-
ion and recommendation of tho most eminent of
the Faculty.
It is a sure and safe remedy for Ulcors and
Soros, either fresh Pr of long duranflo. It stays
and provonis Gangronos, nnd by a timely appli
cation 'will'preach* many a valuable life and limb.
In eases of inveteracy of Ulcers, or a prononoss
of U10 affected parts to mortify, (or Gangrene,) it
will be advisable for tho unfortunate sufferer to
resort to tho uso of somo gontlo purgative for a
few days previous to using tho Plastor, and con
tinue tho samo till tho cure » completed, which
may bo confidently expected in a reasonable time.
No purgative more proper than Dr. Dyott's well
known Aiiti-Billious Pills.
Tho Alnlongoro of tho Negroes is ranked under
tho.denomination of Ulcers; this valiiahlo Plaster
is also a certain cure for it, if tlio same treatment
bo observad ns above.
Cancers, Erysinelas, Wens, Scrofula, Fistula,
Wliito Swelling, Sore Breasts, Ferotis, WhitloWs
and Boils are removed, nnd cures happily pro
duced by tho uso of this valuable Plnstur.
It removes Abscesses, and dissipates collected
humour*; italso cures Sprains, Bruises, Anthrax,
Scalds, Burns, nnd all Soros and Wounds, tending
to suppurato; it draws cauterized Sores or Issues
very successfully und without pain. It dissipates
distressing pain from Gout or Rhouniatisin in a
vary short uino, and is a safe and certain euro for
Ulioumnlism ami flying ltlioumatio Pains, if tlio
Plaster bo constantly applied to tho allccted parts
Tor six or eight months, uio parts affected become
invigoratod, and u euro seldom fails to bo com
pleted. It is dlso successfully usod for tlio euro
of corns.
Those useful men, Alariners, should never bo

any length of time equally good, and is particu
larly calculated to dry sores arising from green
wounds, after they are suppurated, which it much
uids. it is necessary it should bo kept dry.

all such objections, ho has simply to stato that it is
prepared according to tlio receipt of nn eminent

through u long practice, in perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: tho Mississippi val
ley. Agniu from the exalted estimation in which

rogatory to oiler any new article. But the Native

of Quintile iu controlling Fever without alfcctiug

the proprietor however sanctioned by ciislotn on
such occasions, to attempt a display of medical
knowledge by adopting some one of the contra
dictory theories afloat, with regard to the charac
ter and causes of Fever.
Believing with tho learned Gregory that though
there has been so much written concerning Fever
there is no une subject iu the whole circle of medi
cal scienco which still involves so many disputed
points. Letting all theories'puss, wo stand by
facts. The first of which is that tho Nativo Fo-

ing comments upon this useful uud convenient
article:
Fairbanks Platform Scales.—It is not often that
wc are induced to laud nn article of trade, and
wo never do unless perfectly satisfied that wc are
commending something that is useful. Wo can
not consent to gratify tlio cupidity of an indivi
dual, at tho risk of imposing the confidence of
thousands of our readers who rclv upon tho hon
esty of our statement*, if not in tfio mfulibility of
our jiidinciit. That groat improvements imvo
•been made within a few years, in the instruments
of weighing merchandise, is a tact familiar to bnsi-
ness men. Tho antique clumsy nud inaccurate
methods of weighing, imvo given way to tlio in
vention of American mechanical skill, and tho lit-
most precision has boon attained. A variety of
Platform Balances nro manufactured uud used,
which cannot bo relied 011 for any considerable
degree of accuracy: so that they necessarily in-
volvo ono party in pecuniary loss. It therefore
ufiords its pleasure to refer to tho Platform Scales
of Air. Fuirbnnk, which Imve been extensively
used in all parts of tlio Uuited Suites for several
years, and givon, ns far as our kuowlodged ex-
tends, very general satisfaction. We purchased
one of these scales threo years since, and Imvo us
ed the in constantly for weighing paper, &c. and
for accuracy anil durability, we nro quite sure,
they Imve not, and perhaps cannot, bo surpassed.
The plan of construction is philosophical nud
simple. Tho employment of two levers, with a
single beam, is certainly the most practicable, in
a compound platform balance. Any increase of
the numbor of lovers or an additional beam, ren
ders the instrument more complicated, less preciRO
in its operation and more Hublo to derangement.
These sculos nrq used by many of the leading
merchant* of New York, whoso written testimony
to their superior excellence has been freely ac
corded to the manulhcttirers. juno 9

Peace I Peace! and Liberty!!
TO-THE AFFLICTED.
By M. 8. Thomson, M. D., Maco.v, Georoia.
When war breaks forth with iu wild alarm,
Among the nations spreads a droad dismay,
When conquering legions, maddonod boldly storm
Tho citadel and kill ana wound and slay.
Whon nothing is hoard but tho din nnd strife,
And groans and crios of helpless ebbing life,
Come gentlo Peace, stop forth, 'tis tinio to save
Our noblest from that open yawning grave.
When foil disonso with overmastering forces, *
Prostrates his hapless victims all around,
When fbvers 'cute and chronic lingoring hosts
Destroy.nnd ah! there can no help bo found,
Whon nothing is heard but the wail of woo,
Of sufibrers tossing them to and (Vo,
Come good 8amantan, tho Imlm apply,
And tho lov’d weary ono wont faint or die.
What though tlio tyrant in his lofty prido,
May rulo his subjects with an iron rod,
What though for ages, man may ho denied,
Tho right.to spook or act but by his nod,
What though ho may be hound in strongest chains,
And nothing has but what his lord ordains,
Yet Lihorty steps forth nnd sots him free,
And tyrauts with their votaries turn and ficc.
What tjiough diseases of whatever name,

What though n hundred inineral sons olTuuiu
Have done their best to stop their wild careers,
What though the nostrums of tlio quack, tho pill,

Yet Thomson's simple means may set them free.
To raise the gludd'ning shout of Liberty!
It is not tlio purpose of tlio undersigned to en
ter now upon tlio comparative merits of either
