This beautiful and scientific instrument com*

cd by the Mf.dicai. Puofkssion, ns being the
most perfect nud eflontunl Magnetic Muchino
that has ever been invented. It is entirely simple
in its construction, and therefore not liable to get
out of order, or become deranged in any manner.
It admits of the most perfuct control, and can be
graduated to tiny power—adapted foran infant,
or KiiHicioqt for the strongest adult—nt -tho pleu
sure of the oporator. Thus, in a neat and port
able compass, an ample and unfniliug supply o
theJIfe-mving influence of Electro-Magnetism
may be instantly obtained. The magnetic power
is imparled iu a continuous manner, and with
no unpleasant sensation to the most delicute pa-
tient.jjlt requires no assistant iu its use, and is in
every respect entirely harmless. Tho whole mu-
chi tie is so simple ami perfect, that it can be used
and understood by a child.
Dr. Morchead's Magnetic Machines

go, Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, General De
bility or Exhaustion, Deficiency of Nervous nnd
Physical Energy, nnd nil Nervous Disorders or
Complaints arising from n deranged state of the
Nervofts System. As a preventative for Apoplexy
tho Machine is confidently recommended, and in
the most cofirmed eases of Scrofula, Dropsy,
_ iclns, Deafness, Curvature of the Spine,
and uil similar complaints, its effects ure equally
successful.
Each Machine is conveniently nrranged with
the Battery and all necessary appliances, put up

Important and Valuable Testimony.
FROM DR. JIOLLICK,
The celebrated Author, Lecturer, and Prncti
tioncr.
New York, Oct. 18th, 1848.
Dear Sir:—Iu compliance with your request,
to “state candidly my opinion of your Gradua
ted Magnetic Machine,” it all’ords me pleasure to
say, that I highly approve of their simplicity nnd
convenience, and that after numerous trials of
those manufactured by others. I have been induc
ed to adopt yours in my practice, and to recom
mend them to those who consult mo on the sub
ject. 1 find your machines to be - perfect in nm
nylittle matters in which others are deficient,
and I have to commend the ingenuity which you
exhibit iu the arrangement of the instrument,
which renders it very portable, nud at the same
time exceedingly powerful. I should ulso stnte
that I have never lound the least trouble iu keep
ing your instruments in perfect order, nnd the
simplicity of their construction in such, that I
should suppose no person would find any diffi
culty in this respect. This is not tho case icith
other instruments, many of which arc complex in
their construction, and therefore liable, to derange
ment. In a few words, 1 consider the general ex
cellouco of your Magnetic Machine worthy of
commendation, and believing that they are of
high remedial value, not only with Medical Prac-
tioiiorn, but in tho hands of any intelligent per
son, you Urc free to use my name nnd influence,
if it cun be of service.
It may not be amivsto mention that I regnrd
the Magnetic Machine ns peculiarly beneficial in
the prevalent clnss of disease called Nervous
Complaints, nnd that I have recommended your
instrument in severe and protracted cases of Dys
pepsia,Convulsions or Fits, and deafness, (which
is uenrly always of neivyus character,) with en
tire success.
I am, denr sir, very respectfully yours,
FREDERICK HOLLICK, M. D.

D. C. Moreiiead, M. D.
Dear Sir: 1 have employed your Improved
Graduated Magnetic Machines, for the last year
in my practice, and have found them superiorto
any with which 1 Ji’uvc heretofore been acquain
ted. They appear to me to combine nil the ad
vantages desired in such an instrument, nud I
accordingly cheerfully recommend them to the
rofession. CHARLES A. LEE, M. D.

. FROM HORACE GREELEY, ESQ.,
Editor of the New York Tribune.
YVe recently heard of a cose where a mother
and newly horn infant given upas dead, were
restored ulinost instantly by the use of the Grad
uated Magnetic Machine. These instruments
nre inadehy Dr. Moreiiead of this city, and we
learn that their use is rapidly extending among
intelligent Practitioners. They are exceedingly
elegant and convenient in their construction,
and wo believe equally excellent and efficient
in their use.

Worms iu Children*
Of all discuses to which children are exposed,
none are so fatal to them ns YVormn. Unfortu
nately, children arc seldom freu from them, and
as they imitate the symptoms of almost every
other complaint,they often produce ularniingef-
I’ccts without being suspected. YVorms nre not
only a cause of disease themselves, but by their
irritation aggravate nil other diseases, wandering
from one part of the body to tho other, winding
themselves up into large balls, nnd obstructing the
bowels nnd frequently the throat, causing con
vulsions, und too often death. The desired rem
edy will he found in DR. JAYNE’S TON
IC VERMIFUGE—which will very soon des
troy the worms, and invigorate the powers oi
digestion, so as to prevent a return of them.
CONSUMPTION, COUGH, SPIT
TING BLOOD, &c.—To Consumptives, Four
fifths of you are really stifle ring from neglected
colds or an obstruction nnd consequent inllumma
tio;; of the delicate lining of those lubes through
which the air we breathe is distributed to every
part of the lungs. This obstruction produces
pain and soreness, hoarseness, cough, difficulty of
breathing, hectic fever, nud a spitting of blood,
matter or phlegm, which finally exhausts tho
strength of the patient, nnd death ensues.
JAYNE’S EXPECTORANT never fails to re
move this obstruction, nnd produces the most
pleasing and happy result. It is certain in its ef
fects, and cannot fail to redieve.
