I am at a loss to make auy kiud of valuation of
these mines, ami especially so from tlw impossibili
ty or comparison with tlw Kuroiwau copjxir mines,
many of which havo been worked far ages, aud to
a depth of near two thousand feet, when the ore
avenged only from 7 to 9 per ct. The yellow sul
phured from the fats 63 and 601* found near the sur
face, and to throe times as rich as that from tho
Cornish mine*, aud when HinolUng furnaces, such as
tho ono which has bccu successfully established or
late at Ducktown will reduce the ore 00 or 70 pr. ct
or copper, saving thereby an Immense expense of
freight and of boxing, the valuo of those mines will
be Incroasod fourfold to wlmt tlioy aro worth to day.
In relation to tho UoucUts tu ho realized hy reduclug
the ore before shipping from the rnluo, 1 cannot do
better than refer the reader to the annexed letter
