Each proposal must state Uistiimtly tho price for
which the entire ration will lie furnished on beard
each light-vessel respectively.
The proposals for supplying fuel, both coal aud
wood, must state distinctly the price per ton nud
cord, and the kind ami quality of each, to hedeliver-
ed on board of each light-vessel respectively.
One bidder may oiler for all the rations and fuel
required for all the light vessels hi this district,-or
for one or more ol'the vessels separately, nt his own
option. The kind mid quantity of fuel will ho deter
mined upon, and the contractor informed accord
ingly. In advance of the Hum for making tho quar
terly deliveries of rations on board ol'the respective
light-vessels.
Each bidder Is required to attach to hls bid or
bids a written guarantee, signed by himself audit
responsible surely, that, hr the event ol'the contract
being awarded to him, he will faithfully cxccuto it
ill conformity to Hie terms of tills advertisement.
The contractor will bo required to enter into bond
with approved security for the faithful execution of
tho contract; uud uo hid will bo accented or contract
entered into, uutil approved by the Light House
Board.
Tlio contractor will bo required to keep at least,
iu tho aggregate, one month’s rations for the entire
crew of Hie light-vessel contracted for, on board at
ulUiincs;aud any expense incurred on account of
failure to deliver rations or fuel in time, will he
chargeable to the contractor.
No member of Congress, lightkeuper, superinten
dent or inspector of lights, nor any person connect
ed with tho Light-house establishment, will bo al
lowed to contract for or deliver rations for tho crow,
or fuel of a light-vessel, nor to bo interested in such
contract.
No contractor, superintendent, or inspector will
lie allowed to change tho parts of tho ration, nor the
times tiiat may bo deter mined upon for tho delivery,
without authority ol'the Board.
All tlio articles constituting the ration for the crew
of light-vessels will be examined, uud their quality
approved by Uio superintendent, or tlio inspector of
tlio district, or by such other parson as may bo as
signed to perform that duty ;uud uo bills will be
IKiid for rations and fuel which are not accompanied
by receipts duly signed by tho respective light-ves
sel keepers for the dlll'erent articles constituting tho
