I FULLY ENDORSE THE RESOLUTIONS, AND MAY FURTHER SAY THAT I AM WHAT IS CALLED A STATE RIGHTS DEMOCRAT'.—John C, Breckeuvidgc in re- t to his nomination for the Vice Presidcn- Job Printing Promptly, Neatly and Cheaply, Done. The pablio in general, and our Democratic friends in particular, will remember that there Is connected with the Georgian Journal es tablishment one of the most thoroughly equip ped Job offices in this section of the Union, if we are correctly advised, some of the most beautiful specimens of job work ever dono in Savannah have lately passed from under our presses. Give ns a trial. Our facilities enable us to execute every de scription of letter press work from a mammoth poster to the smallest card, and from a book to a circular, with neatness and dispntch, upon the moat satisfactory terms. Orders from all parts of the country will ro ceive prompt attention. 49* Subscribers who mnybe neglected by our carriers are requested promptly to give no tice at the office. Messrs.Wright and Savage.—Wo direct the attention of persons having occasion for legal services at Brunswick, in the adjoining counties, to the enrd oftheso gentlemen. They are capital fellows—baring the incorrigible “Americanism" of the former. But it bus a full offset in the Democracy of the latter. Distressing Occurrence in TatnallCo.- Mr. Surrency, the Past Master at Watenuellon, Tatnall County, sends the particulars of an aocident, which happened near thut place on the 12th inst., resulting in the death of nu estimable lady. One of tho speakers (Mr; Bartow,) Is reported us describing tho Oiuoiinmti Geuvention— (which the rocord proves to have been ono of tho most, respectable and orderly assemblies ever couvencdon tills continent,) ns$ a “gather- lug of political tricksters and gamesters." lie could hardly have uttered language more offensive or more unjust. Many of tho mem bers of Hint Convention tiro statesman and patriots with reputations us broad na the land— all, or nearly all, men of moro than ordinary talents and consideration. Tho list is before us. The first names that falls uuder our eye is the noblo roll of Virginians; Jams A. Keddou and John B. Wo need not sny who those men are. We should insult ny uttempting to viudicuti them from the charg** in which tucy incomuiou with nil the other members of the Cincinnati Con vention are involved. Some of them havo been Judges on the Bench—others, members of Congress. Perhaps all who have held no other public station have been Georgia Legislators— unless it he James Gardner Esq., the accomp lished editor of tno Constitutionalist. Half of them (proVably) within the last live years were in intimate political association with that assuilant. We say their assailant, because the charge rests quite us much upon them as upon any of their associates. Indeed we know nut but their characters uro move deeply involved than those of any other delegation. For it may be alleged thut though Mr. Bartow could not speak from a personul knowledge of the Representatives from other States, those from Georgia might be altogether within the com pass of his acquaintance. It may be expected that in behalf of the dele gates from Georgia wo will retort in language of kindred severity.—Vet-we do not and cannot^ The speaker to whom reference* bus been made, is undoubtedly a gentleman. To denounce him and his associates ns “political tricksters and gamesters” would be to, ? exhibit on our part, the very recklessness of which he has been guilty—to do what we fire condemning. Wliilo therefore we could not pass it In silence, wo content ourselves with noticing, 'only to deprecate, tho use of such weapons in tbo very commencement of a political campaign. Aa terrible as that was upon those who hud been dealing with the grave question of law and right only to make out of it purtizan capital at the expense of every manly and correct sentiment—and his exposure of that purpose on the part of many of his assailauts, caused a very general and visiblo blanching of cheeks on the part of the Republicans—the dignity of his bearing and the power of his reasoning eclipsed, it. He made it perfectly plain that tile majority had voted to expel him only for political effect; overstepping the bounds of their authority and aiding and abetting dastardly conduct on the pail of some, only to the end of eompa tsing ti political result foreign to him they sought to victimize." “We happened to be in Wii3hingion(says the editor of the Petersburg Democrat,) Monday, and to have heard the speech of Mr. Brooks which the Star so handsomely uml justly com pliments.
