It is gratifying to tho proprietor of these medicines
to bo ablo to state that it is now nearly three year*
i since they wore first introduced, during which time
i they have been extensively used in various parts of
tho United States, and huve given to patient and
practitioner tho highest degree of satisfaction iu the
various coses in which they have been employed ;
whether in town, country, hospital or private prac
tice, they have Invariably given the most decided
and unequivocal satisfaction, and produced the most
salutary and beneficial effects. Numerous letter*
have been rccolvcd from the most distinguished
physicians in tho country, and from the protestor*
of several medical colleges, recommendmg in the
highest terms the value ot these medicines, and
their superiority ovor all other preparations for
such complaints os tho proprietor recommends.
Numerous preparations of Sarsaparilla and of Buchu
uud various modes of preparing them have boon
given, all of which of course will differ according to
the mode of preparation which each individual may
adopt.
■These medicines require considerable care in the
preparation and the employment of different men
strua in successive operation to take up the extrac
tive matters, and, in consequence, are most fre
quently Improperly uado, and not unfrequently
much impaired, if not rendered totally Inert, by the
injudicious and unskilful management or those unac
quainted with pharmaceutical preparations,
therefore of the highest consideration and import-
ntico to the public aud to the faculty that there
should be standard preparations of uniform strength
und possessing the most advantages. To effect this
aud obviate the evil alluded to, I have made a num
bor of experiments to ascertain the most effectual
mode of extracting tho virtues of tho Sarsaparilla
uml the Buchu, aud to discover the most eligible
form for their exhibition. The experiments nave
resulted most favorably, and it Is with much pleas
ure I uow offer to the public and the faculty my
Compound Fluid Extracts, which coutain all the vir
tues of the articles they are represented to be made
from iu a highly concentrated form, and are the most
active preparations which can be mode. Two U<
